If a PC dies to that death effect, a raise dead will not work. I meant to add to the adventure that the Codex will supply a resurrection for the PCs at the price of a raise dead. Please take this into account when running the adventure. Thanks, Shawn |
| Harliquinn02-09-08, 07:33 PM | We ran that today and when I identified the creature, I about spit out my drink :) luckily I was able to communicate a safe way to deal with the creature to the party but yeah that would have been...bad. I'm glad there is a way out. I certainly don't mind the threat of death in modules but the threat of permanent character destruction kinda sucks. |

He can reliably achieve DC 40 Knowledge checks on all checks pertaining to creatures. Knowledge is EVERYTHING! Also, Knowledge Devotion is my best friend. |

Too bad I didn't have proper scheduling to play Crimson Codex this season of the campaign. You've made me curious. ;-) |
| smerwin2902-11-08, 11:48 AM | Curiosity killed the Serpent (or Viper)! Hey, that sounds like a great adventure title! I want to take a moment to thank all the people who are playing Xen'drik Expeditions in general, and taking the time to play the Crimson Codex adventures specifically. It means a lot to me to know that at least a few players are following the story and taking part in the fun, and I thank you! Shawn |
| JJeff02-12-08, 12:39 AM | Err... so. The players have to take it like a .... C.O.B.R.A. member? (sorry, GI Joe joke that comes up always in CC games due to the Viper/Serpent thing) Anything to get my players stop shouting "COBRA!!" in CC games |
| Harliquinn02-12-08, 11:40 AM | I am really enjoying all the adventures, but of course the Codex ones are nearest and dearest to my heart as I really enjoy puzzles mixed with good stories. All the factions have a unique feel to them that has really started to come through. This was the first time I was thrilled not to receive any story objects also!! |
| Marcus Majarra02-13-08, 12:17 AM | This was the first time I was thrilled not to receive any story objects also!! It wasn't easy, but I also managed to stay on the good side of both Sym and Stormrider. Incidentally, the 9th DM's Mark can award you with a story item to regain the favor of whomever you displeased in CDX-9. |
| warfteiner02-13-08, 12:37 AM | The Codex mods are by far the preferred faction adventures for my group. While they don't yell "Cobra!" or anything, they DO have an egotistical gnome. That successfully used phantasmal killer on... a dire lion. a pyrohydra. an illithid. (just ask him about the time the spell was turned back on his teammate, the soulblade. hilarious hijinks ensued, I promise!) Need we go on? ;) |

(sorry, GI Joe joke that comes up always in CC games due to the Viper/Serpent thing) Anything to get my players stop shouting "COBRA!!" in CC games In the next adventure I write, I will add something like this: "If the word 'COBRA' is shouted three times during the battle, the spirits that haunt the tomb are summoned. The spirits call forth the ancient fiendish tarrasque of legend, and the creature attacks the PCs." That should cure the shouting quickly and permanently. ;-) Please, though, let's keep spoilers either hidden or warned about until the adventures are completely retired. Thanks! Shawn |
