I'm writing up a Codex DM's Mark that I'm going to make available to folks who want to run it. It will be mostly fleshed out (I may not write out actual box text), and will have information for scaling up to 2nd level characters if folks don't get to run it til DM's Mark 2.

My goal is to have it done in time for judges running at GenCon to have access to before they leave for the con (although it may be _right_ before they leave...)

Once I have the scenario complete, I'll post on here and folks can contact me via e-mail to request the adventure pdf.

The Codex cannot rely on House Sivis to securely relay messages between its agents in Khorvaire and Xen’drik given the Sivis’ ties to the Blackwheel Company. An opportunity has arisen that can provide the Codex an alternative means, provided its agents act quickly enough. A Crimson Codex DM’s Mark for 1st level characters.

Thanks Rob. This is a good precursor to something I was going to post relatively soon anyway. At GenCon, there is going to be the opportunity to play 2 DM's Marks for each faction. Anyone writing a DM's Mark for the Crimson Codex is welcome to share those with people judging the DM's Marks there. The help is always appreciated.

I am attempting to leave several threads open at the end of each faction adventure to give people something to tie the faction adventures to the DM's Marks. People are certainly welcome to ignore those threads, but they will be there, and they will be generic enough so you aren't locked into something you do not want to do.

Also, I would be more than happy to look at the outlines for DM's Marks for the Crimson Codex if anyone wants suggestions on making them fit into the faction campaign.

Howdy... Is it possible for me to have yer Dm's after you're done with it? I've decided to GM Crimson Codex but I got ZERo juice about ideas. If you could help me I'd be glad.

Pick up a copy of Secrets of Xen'drik. I'm running the adventure "Academic Errand" as my first Mark at the end of this month. The entire adventure idea, locations and monsters are all detailed in that book, along with dozens of others. I chose this one since it's first level, simple, and heavily revolves around non-combat encounters. The only thing I really changed is the initial encounter on the airship from stirges to the new Howler Wasps from MM4.

I think I might go with either a mystery or exploration theme (although I don't know the plot or even a teaser yet), but I think I want the first Codex DM's Mark that I run to be 100% non-combat. Because I want to emphesize the pursuit of knowledge, I want to do puzzle after puzzle, whether in a literal or figurative sense, and require loads of knowledge skill rolls.

I figure that flavor and descriptions should follow an academic narrative. Bits for flavor would include made-up scientific names for monsters, historical references, and the most flowery language that I can get my hands on.
