Fiend-Blooded errata? [Archive] - Wizards Community

11-24-06, 01:32 AM I would very much like to take a spellscale sorcercer and use the Field-Blooded prestige class. :devil: However in reading thru it, I see the requirement for Knowledge (planes) 8 ranks, and that particular skill is not a sorcerer class skill. The paragraph Becoming a Fiend-Blooded states "Clearly, the sorcerer is the shortest path to becoming one of the fiend-blooded" and the cr7 example has the skill at 8 with no feats to explain why. Has knowledge (planes) been added to the Sorcerer skills list or is this some sort of typo. A sorcerer would have to be 13th level to take the prestige class per the requirements, but both examples have it taken at 7th and not feats to cover the difference. I suspect there is an errata forthcoming, but I cannot seem to find it.

11-24-06, 01:16 PM If you take the Education feat as your first feat, you then have ALL knowledge skills as class skills and could easily end up with 8 ranks in Knowledge (Planes)

11-24-06, 02:22 PM Don't forget the wonderful bonus given to members of the Codex. On creation you get to choose a number of knowledge skills equal to your int bonus (minimum of 1) to add to your class skills list. Easy enough to make Knowledge (the planes) one of those.

I think there will be an errata for the Prestige Class at some point, but this allow me to get the character started.

11-26-06, 10:27 AM I am not aware of any errata for that prestige class, nor any other errata allowing the example of that prestige class in the book to be legal. Mostly likely the author made an error when creating the example, assuming the sorcerer had Knowledge (planes) as a class skill.

Fortunately, the Crimson Codex benefit of that extra knowledge skill as a class skill has you covered.

11-26-06, 11:19 AM If you look at the example NPCs for prestige classes, on average there are one or two per book that do not qualify for the pclass they are supposedly the example of.
