Yes, yes I do.

Ironically, my old CC character (Teel the Halfling Rogue) was the only of mine that didn't have that database crediting-problem at Gen Con. :)

But I still kinda got bored of him. I was starting to apply the level bump a couple of weeks before DDXP and then I just had a wild inspiration to try something new.

So I retired Teel.

As the storyline of the Codex goes, many low-level operatives are currently disappearing and getting bumped off, so that's what happened to little Teel. He last reported he had heard something about a "mysterious collector who knew something about the Caldyn fragments", and then he was found the very next day, fatally stabbed and stuffed into a barrel not far from the Weeping Widow.

Enter my NEW character.

Aethys Slithien, aka "Dragonsong". Aethys is a beautiful teal-skinned spellscale bard, who was blessed with a pair of (barely functional but certainly exotic) dragon wings. She's been performing on the streets and stages of Stormreach under the 'stage name' of Dragonsong, and she's really not quite an adventurer. She still turns her nose up at wading through swamps or getting her boots dirty in puddles.

Aethys is more of a haughty performer who ended up caught up in the pursuit of the Caldyn prophecy because of her draconic heritage and her essentially glamour-loving personality. her "cover" is that she's famous, and her powers to enthrall and charm help her get into places and learn things that even the slickest Codex operatives can't always accomplish.

When she went on the expedition adventure, it was great. ALL of the other members of the group were Blackwheel Company. I had brought both characters and I meant to decide on the spot which character I should play. So rather than just turn the expedition into a Blackwheel adventure, I grabbed Aethys.

This was awesome. The Blackwheel company guys were all playing hardened soldiers, going about their mission with total seriousness and military precision. So just to make it more fun, I made sure Aethys tried to bring a footlocker of stylish dresses on the journey. One of the other characters, a Blackwheel Co soldier named S'yn, stopped her at the gangplank and started throwing her lacy things over the side. "You won't be needing this!.. or THIS.. or any of these! And those boots are not going to be any good.."

I also got to be real catty with the other female characters in the expedition group.

It was great. :)

Over the course of the adventure, she ended up with the nickname "Princess" for her urbanized squeamishness and proud behavior, but I think everyone appreciated her in the end. If there was a roleplaying encounter, she generally could get answers quickly. If there was a distraction needed, she was there, with her flute, ghost sound, and dancing lights-- making a spectacle of herself. In battle (her one serious weakness) she only once actually drew her rapier.. but she certainly had her hands full, going invisible, inspiring courage, and tumbling around, healing people.

So anyhow, I'm pretty much in love with this character right now.

I think Teel ran into a certain Cabal Rogue, soon to be Assassin Xulthaeyr. At least thats the word on this side of Stormreach.:evillaugh

If you have the Expansion slots ...

Uncanny Trickster.

Do it.

Your Codex Bard sounds a lot like my Codex Bard. I am finding an unbelievable amount of cool stuff I want to try with The Complete Scoundrel.

I don't have any expansion slots just yet (I took two on Dragon Wings, and two on 'Force of Personality' which just fits her wonderfully).

My plan is to eventually take 'Cloaked Dancer' from the Complete Scoundrel.

But yeah, I had a great time playing her. Looking forward to doing it again soon!
