Is that considered killing a party member even if the player had say evasion and should have been able to get out of the way? Or say the character was at full health and even with a failed save only died because the wizard rolled max damage? |

Is that considered killing a party member even if the player had say evasion and should have been able to get out of the way? Or say the character was at full health and even with a failed save only died because the wizard rolled max damage? If the other player says you can include him in the spell effect, then it's just bad luck. If you do it without his approval, you're in trouble. Saving throws aren't automatic and there are a lot of mutts with evasion and not much of a reflex save. I've found that 80% of the time when someone says go ahead and include me in the spell affect, they manage to fail their saving throw, but no one has died yet. Other than that, if I tell you to stay clear and you don't, you're likely to eat a fireball, lightning bolt, flame strike and/or arc of lightning. I haven't killed any PCs with that tactic either. Generally, if it's the right tactic for the situation, you're not going to have any problems. Ed |
