| DragonDai08-09-06, 10:53 PM | Ok, so the Adventure Journals are out (Thanks FMs!!!! :O) hehehe) and they are very specific in the info you need to place on them in pen. Since I am sure that altering them after they are created is a BIG no-no, just like altering ARs in Living Greyhawk is, what happens if someone takes a feat or spell or builds towards a prestige class that later turns out to be restricted??? Can the character make a one time revision to their Adventure Journal? Are they SOL? Do they lost that feat slot? Are they stuck with a high ability score they will never end up needing? For most factions, this really isn't huge problem. Sure, one feat/spell may be deemed too powerful and therefore placed on the Restricted list, causeing some problems for a small number of players. But for the most part, the MoH CS should be a pretty good guideline for what will and won't be restricted in those factions. However, Cabal of Shadows is a LOT trickeyer. Since evil actions will no longer cause alignment shifts for these lucky guys, a lot of feats and spells and prestige classes that have never before been options (cause even though a evil character could mechanically take them, in a living setting, using said feat/spell/prestige class ability would generate alignment shift and get your character taken away). But since this isn't the case, there are lots of new feats and spells and prestiges that, while we don't expressly get access to cause they don't require evil, we might want to take to fuel our own evil agendas. Things like Summon Undead spells, the Corpse Crafter line of feats, True Necromancer or Pale Master Prestige and many many many more items like these are now possible (yes, I know my focus is narrow, these are the things I am interested in, but there are many good non-necromancy examples). So, for example, a player might unlock the Summon Undead I as his first level slot and play a Cleric just so he can cast this spell. If this spell later hits the Restricted List, will this character be allowed to retool that first level expansion slot or will he just have a dead spot? What if he no longer wants to play a Cleric cause his hopes and dreams of being a skeleton summoning mad-gnome are suddenly dashed on the sharp and jagged rocks of the Restricted List? Poor, Poor little Gnome!!! <<Insert sad, walking away music here>> Anyways, I have gone and taken up enough time with this uber-long post, but I am sure you all get the point. So, Nice, Wonderful, Amazing, Talented, Hardworking, Fantastic, Brilliant, and Benevolent Faction Masters, if you could give us your take on this issue (esspecially you, oh most Evil Faction Master of the Cabal), I know I would greatly appriciate it and I am sure a lot of other people would too.... Thanks In Advance, Ciao, DragonDai |
