(I haven't played any expeditions yet, so maybe that will be obvious when I do)

I'm wondering because, now that Favored in House can get them will simple checks :rolleyes: , they come up more frequently.

I took a recent mod and gave a PC the max information from a gather info chart because he earned a secret from his House favor. I assume that's the sort of thing that is meant.

I'd love to have more specifics for my own design purposes. I assume that a secret can't be something that isn't revealable till the finale. Or is it?

01-09-07, 06:13 PM As I may have already mentioned elsewhere, the concept of the "adventure secret" was developed by the original campaign developer. I didn't even know of the concept until I had already written the second Faction mod. I honestly don't know what the concept was originally supopsed to entail, and I don't know that any of the other Factionmaster know either. You should start seeing the term more in adventures though.

As to defining what the concept means, I don't think we are ready to do that yet, because the concept may evolve over the next few months. The example you give is as good a use of an adventure secret as I can imagine. It is going to be fluid, as I said, because Adventure Secret can now be learned in different ways (Favored in House, the Stormrider's Chapbook Player Reward Card, etc.). So right now they are probably only going to be used as in-game hints about what is happening or what is coming. That could change.

01-11-07, 01:33 PM I know that I have started to include them in mods as of now (now being that we know they exist). Basically I have list what the PCs can find out from the DM if they use an ability/card/power that reveals an adventure secret.

01-13-07, 11:24 AM Depending on the mod (like a BI style mod) there might not be one, but if it makes sense, there will be.
