Hey- new to RPGA/XE and had a quick question. Is my reading correct that if you spend 2 expansion slots to get alternate class features you get them all (if you want them). The example has the druid features both from PHB2. What about across books, if I unlock barbarian alternate class features can I use the ones from PHB2 and complete champion? or do I have to declare which book?

Thanks.

You are thinking racial substitution levels. You unlock only one alternate class feature, and you have to specify which.

mmm on page 4 it says
"Choosing to unlock the alternate features of your starting class, unlocks ALL the alternate class features for that class, even if you choose not to take advantage of all the options unlocked"

Then states as an example a druid who unlocks Shapeshift for the druid also unlocked spontaneous rejuvenation, even though she doesnt want to take it.

Now my guess is its per book, so one unlocks all for a book. But it doesnt specify.

We were both wrong. You unlock all alternate class features for that fclass no matter the book. I should point out that sometimes it would be impossible to take more than one feature since they give up the same feature for the new one. For example, I wizard couldn't give up their familiar in exchange for every alternate class feature that requires you to give up your familiar (you have to choose one.)

Also, note that the Barbarian 1st level Spiritual Totem from Complete Champion is on the Restricted List and not allowed.

Some classes give up different features though depending on the book. For instance, there are class alternate features in Dragon Magic for paladins that give up armor and some others that give up remove disease and/or turn undead. If it's possible to get them all, that is indeed different from just one (And very nice if that is what's intended). Just wanted to clarify :)
