| Shadowdancer01-22-08, 02:21 AM | In addition to the problem of there only being 5 answers to 6 questions, I noticed another problem with the questions to the adaptation of Eyes of the Lich Queen Part 4. For the next to last question, "How did the PCs deal with the double combat of the Final Showdown?," I think there is a problem with one of the answers. The answers as presented are: a) The PCs were overwhelmed and soundly defeated. b) The PCs defeated Khurystas soundly but were badly injured before bringing down the Godslayer. c) The PCs won through the encounter but at a great cost, one or more PCs were put down or slain. d) The PCs failed at this step; they had to retreat and left one or both of the foes alive. e) They never made it this far. Answers a and d seem to be saying the same thing, or very similar things. And there is no answer to handle "The PCs defeated Khurystas and the Godslayer soundly and with no problems," which is what happened both when I played it and when I ran it for another group. Any idea when these problems are going to be fixed? I deactivated the session I recently ran, but still need to report it before the deadline comes. |
| Mherduwynn01-22-08, 03:58 PM | As a side note, any group that easily defeats the double combat is... scary. o_0 In response to the question, the trouble seems to have been a simple cut and paste error (that I made, so throw rocks at me if you like). The a) answer was supposed to read "overwhelmed and soundly defeated both parts of the encounter". Thus, if your party was able to kick butt without suffering any significant damage, the answer to use for scoring is A. -A |
| Skerrit01-23-08, 06:25 PM | I've just been told it should be all fixed now. Report away! |
| Shandronas01-26-08, 10:27 PM | So, arising from this module is another unique situation. As a reward, my character received access to a previously unavailable feat in XE. Because of this, the rules regarding the implementation of this feat are not established. Without wanting to reveal any spoilers, is there any faction reps or the like that I can email or PM to get some clarification on these questions? |
| Harliquinn01-26-08, 10:43 PM | One more 'odd' thing. The Cabal reward for Lich Queen 4 allows the reduction in cost of something. However, the item it supposedly reduces in cost already costs what the cert says it's reducing the cost to :) Sorry for cryptic. [EDIT] Also the Codex story object is a little different than stated by the GM at the end. There was an 'extra' part after what's posted online. Was that option remove? |
| Shandronas01-26-08, 10:44 PM | Hehe, I notied that, too. |
| Wuafeeldh01-27-08, 03:30 AM | Harliquinn, see the thread further down the page for clarification: http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=971478 Shandronas, see here: http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=977046 |
| Shandronas01-27-08, 10:57 AM | Yikes, I'm getting blind in my old age. Didn't even notice that. Thankya. |
| Harliquinn01-27-08, 04:55 PM | I do have another question about the general story object reward of Part 4. It mentions using a feat (in advance) to gain the benefit of the object. Does that mean that a 10th level character could 'reserver' their 12th level feat at 10th and benefit from the story object now? |
| Skerrit01-28-08, 03:41 PM | I do have another question about the general story object reward of Part 4. It mentions using a feat (in advance) to gain the benefit of the object. Does that mean that a 10th level character could 'reserver' their 12th level feat at 10th and benefit from the story object now? Yes. You can have the benefit of that story object by writting your intent to take it at your next available level in your adventure journal. If you do, this choice CANNOT be retooled and you are stuck with that feat for the rest of the campaign. As for the other clarifications, I believe Wuafeeldh is right, and they are all found in the thread he mentions. |
| Mherduwynn01-28-08, 04:03 PM | Skerrit is entirely correct. The feat can be reserved and effectively "spent" ahead of time. It can never be retooled and remains dedicated for the rest of the campaign. I think it is safe to say with spoilering too much that the expenditure is most definitely worth it (at least from an roleplaying standpoint). -August |
| Harliquinn01-28-08, 06:05 PM | Oh, my Crimson Codex character will definitely be availing himself of this story object. I just wanted to make sure I was reading it correctly :) Thanks! |
| Istaran01-29-08, 07:21 PM | As a side note, any group that easily defeats the double combat is... scary. o_0 Does it count if the first combat took forever but was no real threat, and the second encounter was a cake walk? (The enemy in the first used its mobility to negate most of our offense, but that negated much of its own offense in the process.) Our party was half Blackwheel, so maybe that's why we're so scary? Or is it just Grendalyne personally? (Who got down to -86 hp at one point in the mod and was still running around, dishing out 68-116 damage/round. Tell me that's not scary?) |
| WolfStar7601-30-08, 09:10 AM | Well, while the final encounter(s) did raise a few eyebrows at my table, the fact that most of the "main" characters at my table were an average of level 10.5 it didn't give them a huge problem (espesially with the CofDE effect active for the first half) I did give the level 8 warforged a good scare, however. |
| JJeff02-03-08, 08:16 PM | My side had an easy time too. Multiple astral constructs with +21/+21 attacks easily handled the issue, though the guy who summoned them was hiding the whole of the encounter from the enemy. I hate psionics... can some of the future mods kinda be more... "hateful" toward psionics. The given enemies can't take 12d6+12 lines of energy blasts every round with huge Astral constructs beating down on them. :p |

Just a point of fact, but the problem with question 5 having five answers, and no good answer, is still there. I took August's advice and reported the answer as "A", so I'm hoping it all works out. |
| anony_max02-11-08, 11:48 AM | [EDIT] Also the Codex story object is a little different than stated by the GM at the end. There was an 'extra' part after what's posted online. Was that option remove? I'm curious about this, as I prepare for DDXP. Should we go by the version of the Codex Story Object in the character tracker or in the Adaptation Document? It seems to make a big difference for us Human PCs. :) |
| Mherduwynn02-15-08, 11:52 PM | For now, go with what was given to you by the GM as noted in the adventure. We'll look into why the Online Tracker is different. Hope this helps, -August |
| JJeff02-18-08, 01:56 AM | We would appreciate it. From what I've heard, the BWC reward is missing out a "free" word or something... |
