Is this true? I can't find nething that says that nemore. I hope I didn't imagine it. for instance, if I'm a warlock(160 gp) and i have no ranks in crafts or professions but i do have the scribe scroll feat, what would my starting EV be? I'd really appreciate this being cleared up. its been driving me nuts. |

They can't craft items until they get the class ability, which, IIRC, is around 12th level. |
| EberronMoses09-09-06, 09:41 PM | I can't scribe scrolls but i CAN take the feat and I do believe that the original document for lack of wording didn't say u actually had to be able to use the feat. I can't use it now but its something i'm definitely gonna want later as a Warlock. |
| Timlagor09-11-06, 05:51 AM | You don't get extra EV. You get the ability to buy items that you could craft cheaper than normal: cost x3 for consumables and cost x2/3 for permanent items I believe. It's in the 1.0 CS somewhere. |
| smerwin2909-11-06, 07:35 AM | What the original poster is referring to is Coin on Hand. It was a rule in the other D&D Campaigns that gave people with certain skills and feats (or even a high Charisma) a little extra gold to use DURING THE ADVENTURE. This is currently being debated and will appear in some form in the next release of the CS. |
| pedr09-11-06, 10:05 AM | This continues to be confusing! I just had a look and in MoH you get extra starting gold for craft and profession ranks (10gp x ranks). In addition, at the start of each adventure you have 'Coin on Hand' which is calculated based on level, charisma modifier, ranks in craft and profession and item creation feats. So in MoH item creation feats do not give you extra cash to equip your character with, but give you a small bit of extra to spend during an adventure. This seems like it would be a useful addition back into XE. It would also be useful to see craft and profession skills having some use. |
| Timlagor09-12-06, 11:33 AM | Craft and Profession Skills already get you 10gp/rank as EV in XE. This does seem to be a one-off whenyou get the rank though so it's not a huge benefit. |
