For example, can a character from the Blackwheel Company spend an expansion slot to gain access to the Knight base class (normally available to the Covenant of Light). I understand that the evil-only classes can only be played by Cabal of Shadows (such as Assassin or Blackguard). |
| Skerrit08-16-06, 12:04 PM | At the moment, no. That said, we are discussing a way in which that might be done for our next rules update. |
| Grantor08-16-06, 12:18 PM | Currently, expansion slots only unlock the following: Alternate class features (at 1st only), Racial Substitution levels (at 1st only), Prestige classes (at 5th, 10th, 15th and 20th levels), Feats, Spells, Magic Items. Races can only be unlocked by Creation cards and faction membership. Base classes can only be unlocked by Creation cards, Expansion cards, and faction membership. Of course, campaign events can unlock or require anything the writers can conceive of (isn't that a scary thought!). Good luck! |

| Grantor08-16-06, 01:34 PM | When is the next rules update scheduled to occur? Will the rules editors be soliciting questions / comments / feedback from the player base? Well, I noticed that two questions I asked on these boards were directly answered in version 1.0. So I would say that "the powers that be" are listening... No one could stop you from questioning/commenting/feedbacking right now anyway. :D As for when, it took almost three months to get from zero to one. And that was a rush to be in time for Gen Con. Next big con is in November... |
| Herrbard08-16-06, 02:07 PM | It would surprise me greatly if our four stalwart Faction Masters did not get it done well before then. All four have been excellent in monitoring these boards, as well as the XenEx Yahoo group, and I am impressed with their responses, professionalism, and how fast things get fixed when problems are found. Keep it up, gentlemen. The campaign is strong, the players have been uniformly happy, and I look forward to a good long run. Dan Erbacher |

We'll hash out the decision of whether and which base classes to allow then. :) |

They must have about the same [lack of a] social life that I do. *lol* And as for a "long run"... the game is 18 months... So unfortunately it won't be too long. Why is it being set so short? (to those "in the know"). |

Mark of Heroes I think will hit 2.5 years when it's done won't it? |
