Character invalidation? [Archive] - Wizards Community

From what I can glean from the forums, CS 1.0 is the official campaign standard we are all expected to play by currently, while CS 1.1 is the draft being considered by the Faction Masters right now.

Therefore, if my character hits level 2 before the draft becomes official I will be leveling up under CS 1.0 rules. That means for me I can unlock a spell and take it as one of my known spells as a sorc. (Level 2 will be my first sorc level).

Then, when the CS 1.1 comes out, if they haven't changed it from the draft in the relative part, my level 1 feat will suddenly retroactively require 2 slots, making my level 2 unlock of a spell invalid, thus making one of my known spell choices invalid.

I'm sure some other people have made similar soon-to-be-invalidated decisions, especially those who hit level 2 before the draft was available. Are we supposed to go back and revise our characters to fit the new campaign standards if that happens? Or what?

I believe it was mentioned before that some sort of limited mulligan would be allowed when the CS 1.1 is officially released. However, I can't cite the source. I believe it was in a thread asking about clarification of retooling inbetween events.

I've simply stopped playing in the adventures and began DMing because of my frustration with the current incomplete standards. As it stands my character is level two and will also have to go through some sort of limited rewrite in order for him to fall under the Draft CS 1.1 standards as they stand now.
