| warfteiner08-21-07, 11:43 PM | So, I'm reviewing Eberron in general and examining the magical resistances of the creatures... Is there a huge viability in using metamagic feats to add/ increase my wizard's (or sorcerer's) fire damage? Or should I perhaps consider changing it through various options to 1/2 force, 1/2 elemental? I really like the idea of an elemental-focused mage. Any suggestions, such as specific books, feats, races, etc? Thanks! |

If you are creating a damage-focused arcanist then you have to work hard all the way across your character design to be competitive. Empower Spell is essential. If you are Fire-focussed you must have some way of affecting creatures with fire Immunity (Searing Spell springs to mind). SR is an issue too -Orbs are the traditional solution. If you are only doing damage then go for Warmage. |

With the warmage edge, a myriad of energy type damage spells, and a large spells / day pool, you can do what you want to whatever creature you want. A few metamagic feats such as empower, enlarge (the one that extends the range by 100%), and perhaps even quicken at higher levels, will really help. You might consider a reserve feat or two for when you are getting low on spells. Other than that, play what's fun! John |
