| heirodule08-17-07, 09:33 AM | While I'm griping about the issues with loosing access to 3.5 goodies in an imagined switch to 4e in LG, I must say I'm relatively happy that I would think most of the XE plot will be well along to finished before we have to switch/give up our old PCs. So one of the bright rays at least! |
| Istaran08-17-07, 01:23 PM | I'm guessing at least some thought was put into having one D&D campaign run end at with 3.5 and the next pick up with 4e. At least it makes a lot of sense to me. |
| Onslaught[IT]08-17-07, 04:15 PM | Wait... XE will end before 4th Ed? |

| WolfStar7608-18-07, 11:01 AM | Someone at RPGA HQ was saying that XE would expire at next year's GenCon, so it would seem the timing is more or less to replace XE with a new 4E campaign (prolly AT GenCon). I'm sure we'll learn more tonight at the RPGA member's meeting, sometime around 6 or 6:30 I've heard, as its being siad that part of that announcment will be what's changing over the next couple years in the RPGA to deal with 4E. |
| Harliquinn08-19-07, 10:12 PM | I thought XE was ending at Origins with a new Campaigns premiering at GenCon? |
| WolfStar7608-19-07, 11:25 PM | Yeah, I was a little off in my post, that's what I get for posting AT the con after not sleeping much. :) |
| Marcus Majarra08-20-07, 04:05 AM | It's a shame XE will end at Origins next year. I'm eager to see a D&D Campaign last beyond a 13th-level bump. |
| WolfStar7608-20-07, 07:34 AM | I wouldn't mind seeing a campaign that takes us further as well, though, as someone who GMs almost exclusively, it doesn't really affect me in the end. However, with 30 levels in the new system and an allegedly re-balanced level progression. . . if they make good on their promise of high-level play being as balanced as mid-level play we should then be more likely to SEE high-level play. :) |

From previous comments and the wonderful job the factionmasters are doing, I had hoped that Xen'drik might last until 2009 and allow us to reach the higher levels. However, I am thinking that my primary character *might* reach around level 16 or so. Knowing the campaign will end around level 14-15 does mean I can simplify some of my class choices and I won't worry about taking some prestige classes I had planned to. This should free up some expansion slots for other goodies. |

For me, this means practically forgetting some build choices I had that featured interesting sweet spots in the higher levels (such as my Covenant sorcerer or my Cabal druid). This is practically begging of lower-level effective builds, such as any build incorporating Revenant Blade. |

XE will end at Origins, and we'll precede that massive-finale with a level bump to 13 (with the possibility that some characters are 16 before we conclude). This will be an awesome finale, the likes of which Eberron has never seen. It will have far reaching consequences, not just for the world of Eberron, but for the campaigns to come, based upon the decisions that you all make. Furthermore, it is extraodinarily likely that the factionmasters you praise (and we appreciate that praise with heartfelt gratitude) will be running a new Eberron campaign in the (4th edition) future. Stay tuned, we'll keep you all involved, active, and most importainly, entertained. |
| JJeff08-21-07, 01:39 AM | Oh great Greg, August, Shawn and Brian, we hereby praise all of you. Give us more... more!!!! But will the campaign still be Eberron? Or maybe.... SpellJammer!!!! Hehehe :p |

I had planned to take some Cabinet Trickster levels at the mid teens with a character, but now I will just focus on Chameleon levels instead. My bard was going for Sublime Chord / Lyric Thaumaturge, but can now drop the sublime chord levels since the high level spells won't come into play. Overall, I was hoping to squeeze another 6 months or so from Eberron to reach the high teens, but at least knowing what I know now I can make sure my characters reach their goals in the low teens :) John |

I think that expedition game is probably the most fun I have had in an expedition. All the modules have been fantastic overall in XE, but this one really seemed to highlight everything that makes Eberron what it is. I'm still looking forward to playing all my characters for the next year and seeing what the campaign has in store. Unlike some of the people lamenting the end of LG, I knew that XE would be ending. It doesn't make the campaign any less exciting and I don't plan to slack off on enjoying my characters. I am hoping that the next D&D Campaign is set in Eberron (Which was hinted at during the RPGA Meeting) and that the Factionmasters have a hand in shaping the campaign. John |
| Uthrac08-21-07, 02:27 PM | Just to reiterate: The factionmasters have done a GREAT job! Looking forward to the continuation/climax of this arc, and the beginning of 4.0! |
