| bertman401-15-08, 12:43 PM | Recently at a gameday some PCs were drained. One (the Cleric) had 2 levels drained and did not make either save. Another PC had 6 points of ability drain. They were more than a week out of Stormreach. So my question is how do I report this? There is a place on the reporting form for level drain. I am assuming that once they got back to Stormreach, the PC with the ability drain could get a Restoration cast? How much would it cost? I think this would be a GP debt? Thanks for any help. Anything the PCs purchase during the module (including spellcasting services) can be paid for with a mix of Cash On Hand (which refreshes every mod and does not need to be recorded) and GP Debt (which is a permanent loss, and should be recorded). So if the party did not keep enough cash floating around to pay for the restorations then they will take GP debt. I don't know about the level drain though. If you want to be generous, it can be restored by spellcasting services by having a higher level cleric cast Restoration (costs 100gp + 40gp x caster level), since the time limit is one day per caster level, not a flat week. In that case see the above comments on COH/GP debt. Otherwise, it will need to be reported as XP loss, and I do not know off hand the exact number (but it will be something on the order of 500xlevel or 1000xlevel). |

Lose 500 xp x PC's level, or pay the gold for the restoration spell to be cast using PHB cost (unless the mod gives you a way out of that cost) and record it as a gp debt (minus any COH or Story Objects you might use to defray the cost). As with dying, you can split this gp debt among other PCs if they agree. I will also try to add a section about buying spells in Stormreach as well. |
