My gaming group is new to Xen'drik -- I'm running our first adventure this weekend and I had a question on Event Treasure and Equipment Value.

At the end of the adventure, each player receives a fairly valuable item. How does item fit in the character's EV?

For example, a character starts with 19000 EV. Say he outfits his character in 18000 gp worth of armor, weaponry and assorted knick-knacks. At the end of the adventure, he receives a HaverSack or somesuch, worth 2000 gp, pushing his current equipment up to 20000 gp.

After playing this adventure, is the character's EV going to be raised to the point where the new item will fit under the cap , eg. original EV of 19000 + value of item, 2000 to a new EV of 21000? Or does the event treause not count againt the character's EV? Or, is the character going to have to get rid of his nifty +1 can opener if he wants to keep the haversack?

Thanks,
Rob

Event Treasure has no direct impact on EV (Reported in the database).

The purpose of Event Treasure is that for longer events (For instance, GenCon), your character does not level or gain EV during the event itself. The Event Treasure is there to compensate somewhat for this loss of XP/GP. In other words if you play your Faction Module and the Expedition at GenCon, your character can take the Event Treasure with you for the 2nd module. However, at the end of GenCon, the Event Treasure goes away and the EV (Database) will be updated based upon the answers to the questions the DM has and not directly on what Event Treasure you found.
