One of the prerequisites for the Green Star Adept class is performing a ritual involving ingestion of 'star metal'. However, Complete Arcane also states that you can adjust that requirnment to something more setting appropriate. Would a Dragonshard be an acceptable substitute? After all, a shard of Sibyris (sorry in advance for the spelling) pretty much is star metal.

For role-playing flavor purposes, I don't suppose it matters. In the end it doesn't change the cost (1000 gp from your EV). You could claim to be a dragonshard adept or whatever to other PCs, as long as it is clear on your character sheet what class you really have and a DM can easily figure out what your doing.
