Also, are they considered an "item" for purposes of Extraordinary Artisan and reduced costs for crafting? Should they cost 5x more because they are essesntially consumable? If not, do I deduct a gp value if the homonc dies?

If not, do I deduct a gp value if the homonc dies? 1) No, they are considered magic items. 2) Yes, you can reduce their costs. 3) They are no consumable; so they are not x5 (a small perk for artificers compared to some of the other limitations we are forced to put on them.) 4)You do not.
