Level of character [Archive] - Wizards Community

07-08-07, 03:57 PM Right Havent played Xen'Drik since well about a year ish. I am going to GenCon and thought I'd have a go on a few scenarios and rather than use pre-gen do up my old characters in the level jump. Few small questions.

1. What level should I be creating?
2. How much cash can I spend and can I buy magic items?

07-08-07, 07:08 PM You can buy magic items, but only ones from the DMG unless you use expansion slots on others.
Also, you'll need to keep each purchase below the 9,500 gp limit for individual purchases.

4th level 5,000 gp
7th level 18,000 gp
10th level 45,000 gp
And as dreamwolf pointed out, Das, you can only spend 9,500 on an individual item at 7th level.

Anything else I need to know that is special about leveling characters?

07-09-07, 04:33 PM Hi am still doing my character book up am tired and trying to work out what books I am aloud to use and what ones am I not.

Just looking at Feats and Magic Items, do I have to use Expansion Slots for any non Core books that I wish to use Feats from and Magic Items?

The current list of books you can draw from (without story objects/cards giving exceptions) is on page 2 of the Xen'drik expeditions campaign setting.
Magic items and feats from non-core books cost expansion slots. 2 per feat, 1 per item/spell/power/etc.
