I'm a DM just barely getting into XE as sanctioned RPGA play.

Any general suggestions on joining in this late in the game?

Also, is there any listing of what occured in previous adventures so my players (who are also new to RPGA sanctioned events) have some background about the plot so far?

Go to the Archives of the XE section (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/archeb/ebxe)

Read the articles on the Faction(s) you are playing, with particular attention to the articles "Chapter 1: Footholds" and "Chapter 2: Conflict."

Also, note that even though the 8's and 9's were just posted, you should start with the 7's to pick up at the start of this "Chapter."

Keep an eye on the upcoming blackout date.

Happy gaming!

Welcome to Xen'drik! I hope you survive... I mean enjoy your stay! ;-) I'm excited to see two new players show up today! I'll post this to the other thread as well.

Here are some of the XE basics that I can think of:
-look over the campaign standards and dispel confusion postings that are available on the XE main RPGA site.
http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ebxe/welcome
There's good information there. If you have any questions, search this forum (using google's site:forums.gleemax.com search). If you still have questions, ask here. The factionmasters (guys in charge) and many of the players can help answer any of your questions, and we're eager to help out.

-Adventures expire twice during the year. The next scheduled expiration is on Feb 12th.
Right now, there are 3 faction and 3 dm's marks available for each of the four factions, plus two expeditions for all factions (one of the expeditions will be available shortly), and the adapted Eyes of the Lich Queen parts 3 and 4. That's 28 games that you can play between now and Feb 12th!!
If you can play all of those games, AWESOME! If not, I'd suggest picking a single faction (maybe two) and running those games. That's what my local group has done. Read about the factions and think about what your group may like.

-There are some good info files available on the EberronDMs yahoo group (join it to download them).
This thread (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=780753) also has some links to good summary info.
Marcia Schoonover has also made some files that are available in our local RPGA group; email me if you are interested in me sending you a copy.

-If you have any questions about someone mentioned in a mod that isn't available anymore, just post and many of us can let you know what happened in that adventure.

-The Adventure Journals are for when the online tracker isn't accurate. All the xp and gold is tracked online (so be sure to have your players sign up), but the AJs can be used to keep track of story objects or other important in game events.
I've also used them to keep track of the judges and players I've played with so that I can have my online stuff fixed.

-There will be a level bump at DDXP, and it will probably be to 10th level. If a character plays in all the games available between now and then, it can exceed the level bump by about a level or so.
Xen'drik Expeditions will end this summer, and the last story arc should be very exciting! I'm glad your group is along for the ride.

Lastly, have fun! That's what we're all here for. :-)

Later.

Thank you all for the advice. The murderous nature of these modules will definately make for a change of pace from my homebrew campaigns, if I read about the Blackwheel Company correctly...
