Has RPGA said when is they are planning on retiring the current mods?

Don't the mods have a period of availability listed? In any case, I'm fairly sure it's late July for all.

The last day to report mods for this cycle will be July 29th, as far as I know. We plan to have something for people to play between July 29th and GenCon, although whatever it is will not be reportable for XP or EV. There may be printed story objects that players can earn though. Details will be announced as they become available.

Right now, to the best of my knowledge, all of the modules that are going to be released before the level bump have been released:

Faction Adventures 4-6
Faction DM's Marks 4-6
Expediton Adventures 3 & 4
Adaptation of "Eyes of the Lich Queen" Parts 1 & 2

Enjoy!

Wait... all those before July 29? I can't finsh all that..

I'll only finsh running Faction 4-5 for all factions and Exp 3 by end of June and Eyes of the LQ by end of July... I need to run Faction 6 and exp 4 before July 29 too?

Yep.

The criticism about Mark of Heroes was that there weren't enough modules (and they weren't released quickly enough) in each six-month (well, 4 1/2 month) period. This has been solved with XE, but it has the side-effect that it may well not be possible to play everything now. I prefer this system, though it does force some choices! (particularly with the Adapted adventure)

My FLGS and I had to take a hardline look at the modules, and we're running ~9 hours every saturday now through the deadline - and while we're going to get "Eyes" squeezed in, we're not going to have time for DM's marks.

Just getting through the pre-made modules is going to be a trick. ^_^

Amen, brother...

I don't know if I can finish the given modules at all

Well, you can always order the modules now and play them later on, but you won't be awarded any kind of reward.

It's substantially difficult to play all the mods from a single period. So far, each round of Xen'drik Expeditions boasted 28 playable modules. Even if availability periods lasted 6 months each, you wouldn't have enough time to play one per week.

This is a shame to me, not because there are too many games to play, but because I really want to know what goes on in each faction. The safest bet would be to play only the faction mods and expeditions, and you'd be able to do so playing about once per week.

Now that I have my FLGS "hooked" on XenEx, my secret evil plan, is to start killing off people's least favorite characters, and then convince them to take over as GM of that faction (so I can start playing instead of GMing everything)

Then I could get TWO groups playing every saturday. (Cabal and Covenant one week, Codex and Blackwheel the next). Then, when those groups mix and mingle at Expeditions and the like, there'll be that much more tension. . . I'd hope. :)

That would also help with the issue of having more than 6 people who'd like to play. Sure, they'd have to choose between which 2 factions they'd want to be in - but most of my players can't keep the storylines straight for 4 factions anyhow (and even I'm starting to have trouble). So that could, in theory, give them a better picture of the storyline.

Mebbe for XenEx2 when this campaign ends next year. :)

I'm not very sure how the system works: if the last day to report is 29 July then when is the last day you must 1) order the mod or 2) play it? Would appreciate if someone can enlighten me. Thanks.

For home play you would need to order five days ahead of time. So be sure you have your orders in by the 24th!

As far as playing it, you can play it on the 29th and report it the same day.
