| Ehrick12-19-07, 01:20 AM | Hey all, My group is just starting to play in the Xen'drik Expeditions campaign (yeah, we're a little late, I know). There is some confusion about how to record starting character information. The current min level is 7, so obviously that's where they start. But do they record their 7th level skills in the "Starting Skill Ranks" section of the adventure journal? (Probably) More important: their stats. Should they record ability boosts in the starting stats section? If the answers to both of the above are no, should we just skip the adventure history 1 box, fill in the character advancement for adventure 2 with all their level seven info, note the level kick, and then proceed to fill in the adventure history for adventure 2 with the adventure they play? Thanks all! ~Ehrick |

As long as they understand how they did it, and can explain that to any DM who might ask, then all is well. Shawn Crimson Codex Factionmaster |

Thanks all! ~Ehrick Welcome, Ehrick!! We're happy to see you. I just posted some basic info in another thread (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=967826), but here is more info that might apply to your question. The Adventure Journals are a great way to keep track of the info for you characters for almost everything except for XP and gold. The XP and gold are tracked online via the RPGA website. I use my AJs to track the players at my games, the judge (and they sign the AJ), and any story objects I receive. I play with other people who don't use the AJs at all. I also play with people who keep detailed adventure notes on their AJs. I would stress the use of the AJs just in case there is an issue with the online character tracker. It helps you remember the games you've played, and who they were with. This is extremely helpful if your character is missing an adventure with the online tracker. It's easier to get fixed that way.
