| maijstral208-05-07, 08:26 PM | I have played and DMed D&D for over 30 years but this GenCon will be one of my first forays into the XenDrik Expeditions RPGA. I need to know about roleplaying or story based prerequisites for prestige classes. I am creating a Kalashtar psychic warrior for GenCon, and I do have the creation card, and would like to have a couple of levels of WarMind. The problem is one of the requirements for the prestige class is: Must have had some instruction by another warmind, have access to Talaric texts,or belong to and organization that has access to the Talaric texts. I'm a little confused about Special requirements for prestige classes in the campaign standards. Special requirements for Prestige Classes: In the case of event-based prerequisites for qualifying for a prestige class, a PC requires a story object stating that the event has been achieved. Other sources of campaign documentation, such as your adventure journal, may also qualify as stated by the document in question. This allows you to meet special requirements for prestige classes during DM's Mark adventures, such as sthe peaceful meeting with an outsider of encountering a pseudonatural creature. For such things, the DM should make a notation on your Adventure Journal. How do I handle that? Do I just assume that he has had such instruction, can I assume the Blackwheel company is an organization that has access to the texts, do I have to work something out with my DM on site or am I just out of luck if I want to play this prestige class since I am pretty much building this guy from scratch (I did play him 1st level last GenCon but not since then). Any insight would be apreciated, thank you. |

| Shadowed Intent08-06-07, 09:06 PM | Don't forget that there are DM's who run Mark's online! -Lou The blackout mod EXD-1 Expedition DMs Mark 1 is bring run online twice this weekend. Lou is running it Friday night (http://www.warhorn.net/adhoconlinegameday/schedule/day.php?date=2007-08-10#229) and I am running it Sunday afternoon (http://www.warhorn.net/adhoconlinegameday/schedule/day.php?date=2007-08-12#230). While both tables have 6 people signed up, one person is signed up for both tables. Also, sadly, it is not unusual to have no shows. I will make every effort to accomodate prestige class requirements if I am given enough advance warning. I imagine most DMs would also try to accomodate requiremnts. So, download OpenRPG and sign up. Blackstar server is very popular. I usually play on mayhem server. (depending on the day and the internet of course.) Many people coordinate online play through the yahoo group Online Game Day (http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/OnlineGameDay/) |
