| Afox11-04-07, 04:35 AM | Hi all, i'll like to ask can a druid unlock additional options for animal companions? If so, how many expansion slots will it cost. Also i'll like to check with the more senior players here if the feat "natural bond" allows a druid of lvl 4 to take a leopard companion and still grant hte leopard the bonuses as a lvl 4 druid? Sorry if this qn is in the wrong section. |

Sorry if this qn is in the wrong section. Natural bond is intended for cases where the druid has multiclassed and lost animal companion advancement. It also works works for rangers since their level for an animal companion is less than it would be as a druid. I don't see where it would benefit a druid 4. Ed |

Sorry if this qn is in the wrong section. I have the same question as Afox. Originally posted this in the Questions/Answers thread but then read this. So let me just ask a bit more then him. And how does it (natural bond) stack with the Beastmaster PrC? For a pure ranger beastmaster you can apply natural bond first to boost you effective druid level to your character level and then the beastmaster bonus to boost it above your character level? Is there an official ruling/FAQ on this? Or is it the opinion of the majority. Not that I'm against it. I actually share Ed's view. But was hoping for something more concrete to back me up. Perhaps the opinion of the FMs? Also on the Questions/Answers thread I asked: How does Natural Bond work with the BWC Lizardfolk Ranger Fastplay Mini Unlock if you advance it? |

Ed Thanks, i had the problem cos i played under 2 DMs and both have different ruling. Thats why i want to have a definite answer. Also anyone have an answer ot the first qn? also can a druid unlock a animal for wild shape? |
| Timlagor11-08-07, 06:57 PM | Natural Bond is applied before Beastmaster where appropriate. Most GMs will not allow a straight Druid to benefit from Natural Bond (using a better base animal is not usually considered relevant) |
| JJeff11-11-07, 08:31 PM | So, for clarification (in case people didn't get it): A Druid 7 with a animal companion that is a level-6 (like a brown bear, etc) with Natural Bond doesn't make the animal companion calculate their companion bonuses as though they were Level-2 or something like that |
