| Harliquinn08-07-07, 12:03 PM | This is a request to the powers that be to allow Senior GM's to invalidate an event within a timeframe after its been recorded. Due to the blackout and other factors, I had an event not credited correctly to me. Even with Chris Tulach's rapid responses to me (Thanks!), I was never able to help the Senior GM get the right information to the right source so that the event could be fixed before the blackout. Though it's only a small amount of XP/GP that is lost (Since Story Objects are still valid with a GM signature), it does spoil my perfect record of playing, and having recorded, all the events available for that character. I know there were some people with database and recording problems earlier on in the season, some of which I don't think ever got fixed (Lich Queen primarily if I read right). This is requested in hopes of reducing or eliminating these problems in the future. Therefore, this is just a request to streamline the appeal process such that it takes days instead of weeks, or to allow Senior GM's for an event to invalidate the event in order to make corrections. If RPGA trusts them enough to enter the information to begin with, there shouldn't be any issues with fixing it. This could be limited to a one-time only (and subsequent changes need to occur through RPGA headquarters). Anyways, just wanted to voice my opinion on this and say thanks to Chris for attempting to get things worked out during the last week. John |

| Evanta08-07-07, 09:06 PM | Third-ed. I hope they can still rectify the problems in time. |

| WolfStar7608-11-07, 10:30 AM | Count me in. As the primary Senior GM for my FLGS, there's been more than one occasion where I've wished I could simply correct results by going back in to the recorded event and making sure that I typed the right story object for the right player to see if it was my own human error, or a database error that ate the data. While "re-doing" the event in a limited window (two weeks?) wouldn't fix a database issue, it would be a far cry better than the current system. I know the RPGA staff tries its best, but of the 3 appeals I've filed in the past, the only one that's ever garnerd ANY response was my most recent one, and that was only after I contacted Mr. Tulach directly via these boards. The form (on the DCI site, which may be part of the problem) we're asked to fill out doesn't send a comfirmation e-mail, though it claims it will. E-mails to RPGA sanctioning have gone unanswered in my personal experience. Mr. Tulach has other business to attend to, and I don't enjoy contacting him on a personal level for event issues. In short. . . eighth! |
