What are the dangers of changing into other people, would changing into a high ranking official diverge from the main storyline? I'm just wondering how far I can really take this without risking my whole party (or my own) death. Any advice on roleplaying changeling? I'm looking at being a becomer. |

If you try to impersonate a noble or ruler and got caught, you could definitely be arrested as a spy and possibly executed for treason. If you were to impersonate a crime lord or a thug and got caught, they may take offense and try to kill you (but at least then you could defend yourself, unlike with resisting arrest). If you were to impersonate some commoner and got caught, it's likely no one would care, or you might have to pay a fine or something. And if you're copying another adventurer they can't do a thing about it, except leave you to die in the middle of a fight, maybe (might be a good idea to leave the cleric alone). I guess what I'm trying to say is, the more important or secretive the individual you're copying, the stronger the reprisal you'll face if your disguise is blown. In some cases it may well be worth the risk, but at least you'll have an idea of how bad it can get. |
