Some Story Items add or subtract from your EV. Are these changes included in your official character record from the database, or do you add them in later?

Example: My character record says I have 19500 GP, but I have a story item that says that my EV is permanently 1000 gp less than it would normally be.

Is my EV 19500 or 18500?

Some get included automatically and some don't.

My impression is that if it tells you the amount it's not included automatically but don't take that as in any way official.

If the cert specifically lists an amount, go ahead and add that amount to your EV. I believe the FMs did it differently by faction, so its not consistant. The small boost you might get from the old Story Objects isn't that huge. If a Story Object doesn't list an amount, its definately been added for you.

Also, any Story Object that lists a calculated amount (such as 50 gp * your level or 20 gp * your number of Obscura reward Story Objects) is NOT included in your EV.
