Hello,

I am a player that is going to get involve in the eberron capaign setting for a Cabal of shadows in my character creation i came accross an issue that i would need an answer from you guys the head honchos since my DM could answer it. Now my character is very dependable in the answer adn if so i would need to create a new one for this Wendsday.

I created a Kalashtar Psion lvl 7 my dilema is that in the Campaign standard v 3.0 states

"If you unlock the psion base class, you gain access to all powers on the psions power list from Expanded Psionic Hanbook, the source the class is from. It does not unlock any psionic feats(as none are specifically listed, despite gaining bonus feats), psionic items, or psionicpowers found in other sources such as the Complete Psionic. These items would have to be placed in the Pc's expansion slot."

My issue is that if i play Psion automatically thats 3 Expansion slot (1,2,3) and at first lvl i get a bonus Psi feat. This feat escentially would have to go in expansion slot 1 correct? if so then am i being negated a bonus feat because i don't have the expansion slot 1 open since it was taken by the class? and if thats correct Why?

It doesn't make any sense to say you can play psionics but by the way you don't get the 1st lvl bonus feat.

Please can someone give me an answer as quick as posible since its dependant for me to have to create a new character from scratch for Wenedsday game. Thanks for taking your time to read this

I believe that it is handled by unlocking the specific feats called out for in the same source book as the class you unlock. Therefore for your 1st-level feat you could choose any Psionic Feat from the Expanded Psionics Handbook as if it were unlocked. It is not 'universally unlocked' however, and you can only use it in that 1st-level bonus feat.

This is how other classes and prestige classes work as far as I remember.

I thought this topic had been covered in the forums several months ago, but a quick search couldn't find it.

I don't believe that there was a solution for how the Psion class could take a feat (or maybe it was a bonus feat) when using the expansion slots to open the Psion class. There may be a solution in the latest Campaign Standards, but I don't remember it being addressed.

Other classes don't tend to have the same issue because they can choose effective feats out of core source material. Someone brought up this issue with the Psion class earlier this year.

The solution that I _do_ recall working, was to use the Mark of Heroes (Eberron) creation reward card that allowed Kalashtar (People of Mind, Matter, and Radiance). I believe it opens up the Psion class (for the cost of thee action points) as well as all the feats, skills, powers, items, etc...

If you don't have one of these cards and you don't know of anyone who could help you, you could ask if anyone has a spare one here in the forums (sorry, I don't), or ebay usually has them for a small price (prices are dropping on ebay for the RPGA reward cards at the moment).

Just wanted to let you know... There are two on ebay right now, but the auctions end in the next few hours. I hope you see this.
