| Still05-13-07, 12:28 PM | Hi there everyone! Well Toronto is a post-apocalyptic wasteland when it comes to the RPGA, a sucking black hole where either no one advertises or the RPGA does not exist. I work way too much and cannot travel for games in Sudbury or 17 hours to Winnepeg! :) I am going to Gencon this year and I understand a level bump will be occurring just before and I would like to get some games in online if possible so I don't embarrass myself when I get there with the elite seasoned gamers at the table. I am willing to get a Fantasy Grounds license or whatever so that I can attempt to get back into the RPGA. I have both Skype and Teamspeak enabled and am a seasoned 3.5 DnDer. Just haven't touched the RPGA for a long time and the rules have outpaced me. Does anyone know of people who are running RPGA Xen'drik online? The other post on the forum is old back to Feb so starting a new one here! None of the searchable utilities online show ANYTHING going on in Toronto and I was hoping to find something. Thanks for your forebearance!! Stu |
| Shadowed Intent05-13-07, 02:51 PM | Does anyone know of people who are running RPGA Xen'drik online? Yes. I know of one yahoo group used to coordinate online RPGA play: http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/OnlineGameDay/ Also, the adhoc online game day on warhorn.net is used for scheduling: http://www.warhorn.net/adhoconlinegameday/schedule/month.php I use OpenRPG (a free program) and you mentioned fantasy grounds, which is also popular. Post for more general info, and especially specific questions, there are many here who will be happy to help. Good Luck! |
| Still05-13-07, 03:44 PM | Thanks very much! The RPGA stuff is ALL over the boards around here - and even when you find something it's very general and for specifics you need to go to a series of errata sites then post to have someone actually explain it. (cou-expansionslots-gh). Making your first character is crazy if you haven't got a support group of seasoned RPGA players around. Thus my coming to you great, patient, and tolerant folk :) Anyways - it's starting to come together (about 5 days after I decided to get back in hehe) and I am sure all will be cleared up shortly. Just trying to get in touch with some sympathetic gamers to get started again. You all rock! Thanks Still |
| Marcus Majarra05-13-07, 04:48 PM | How about making a 6-hour trip to Montreal instead? Nah. We're not very XE active here either. |
| Still05-14-07, 02:42 PM | 6 hours to Montreal isn't that bad at all - but 9 by bus to Sudbury is a hassle :) Not to mention Montreal is much more my speed than Sudbury being I am from the T-dot ;) Vive la rue Crescent!! |
| Marcus Majarra05-14-07, 05:19 PM | Crescent St. = club-goer's paradise! |
| Still05-14-07, 07:12 PM | I have dabbled :) |
| Marcus Majarra05-15-07, 10:46 PM | You know, if you're really eager to get playing, I wouldn't mind giving you a heads-up on any game I might be running in Montreal, but the odds are most of my players will be Francophone and we usually run our games in French. Expéditions à Xen'drik! |
| Still05-16-07, 01:14 PM | LOL I took a trip across northern Quebec once on my motorcycle - I was able to consistently eat and find a bathroom :) That is my french level! Even after 10 years of french in Ontario I would consider myself at the level of a grade 3 student with a huge vocabulary. My grammar sucks. Me to goblin swing sword! I to kill her bad!! :) But thanks for the offer!! |
| Timlagor05-16-07, 03:23 PM | So play a Barbarian! |
| Still05-16-07, 03:53 PM | How does one say "Roll the dodecahedron of fate to decide if you successfully hit the goblin with your +1 Greatsword?" in french ;) I could just point at the D20 and grunt :) |
| Marcus Majarra05-17-07, 02:25 AM | "Lancez le dodécahèdre du destin pour décider si vous réussissez à toucher le gobelin avec votre épée à deux mains +1." You should take note, however, that the d20 is not a dodecahedron. That would be the d12. The d20 is an icosahedron. |
| Still05-17-07, 12:31 PM | Touche, Marcus! ;) |
| qstor05-17-07, 12:37 PM | There is an active RPGA Living Greyhawk presence. Try the Ket Yahoo! Group. Mike |
| Peter_Seckler05-17-07, 01:18 PM | Hi guys. I should get back on the ball. I was running a lot of online stuff earlier using FantasyGrounds, and I had to shut down for May because we had some big reorgs at work, which changed my whole gamin' schedule for a while there. I was also working on another gaming-related project at the same time. But then, everything went back to the way it was before, and last weekend, I found myself hanging out online, wishing I was running some more XE... So let me announce the next thing I'mna gonna run! The short version is it will be May 26th, 7PM EST (That's Midnight London time). Crimson Codex 5, The Korranberg Affair. I'll go post an announcement. |
| Still05-18-07, 11:51 AM | I would LOVE to get in on that - was just waiting for a game to come by before I got my Fantasyground license! Let me know how I would get on the list :) Thanks! |
