Great question! I'm hoping to have a better idea of the timeline tomorrow. If I can get some face time, I should be able to at least give an idea of when all the data that had to be shipped back will get to be entered.

We have a vested interest in this too:

Not only do we need your characters to level up (so we can kill... er... torture... I mean uh... CHALLENGE you with bigger, meaner badguys), but we also don't get our DM reward points until those things get entered.

Either way, we're keeping a close eye on things. Hopefully I'll have a more definitive answer for you late tomorrow evening.

Still working on this. Didn't get the contact I was looking for just yet, will try again tomorrow in between patients.

Any chance this will happen in the next week? We are going to play some more and would like to get our characters updated from the convention.

Thanks!!!

Actually, after a long phone conversation the other night, it looks like the ETA is max 2 weeks for Gencon stuff. That's what I was told--I'm going to do my best to hold them to it. :fight!:

I hope GenCon reports soon since the con I played the first set of Xendrik was over a month ago and they have to wait for ComicCon to report and they have to wait for GenCon to report and they have to wait for ...

... have run multiple tables of set one at Cons and I just want to make sure I don't get screwed as a player again by wizards

UGH!~ I checked today and the LG stuff I played at Gencon is now NO LONGER REPORTED! Sheesh...
This is kind of silly, really...

Yeah, it's fairly humorous.

Origins was posted, with no character tracking about 10 times per sessions I played.

Then GenCon was posted and tracked.

Then Origins was pulled and now posted with tracking.

Now GenCon has poofed.

Silly reporting tool.

But the good news is things ARE getting done. Origins is now posted. Characters are being tracked from that convention in the Xen'drik Campaign, although story objects are still missing. The work IS getting done, and I would expect to see GenCon results within the month. I know that's a long time, but at least it's a start.

Yeah, I know.

The humor is that I was one of the few who already had GenCon posted correctly. hehehe.

Well. . . mostly correctly. I only got one cert and the GM told me I had two coming. ~shrug~ I want my RegVagul cert! >:-)

This does lead to one question, however.

Since the reporting and tracking has been a mess, does anyone know if the RPGA is/will be delaying this round of mailing until things are fixed?

So this is really really stupid.

Now it says I played in the D&D Open twice. Huh? STILL no results for Xendrik.

I think this is shooting what could be a good campaign in the foot. I'm having trouble recommending it for now just because of the reporting. Sigh.

On a side note, our home games that we play are posting immediately after we report them. So this should reflect poorly on Gencon, not XE if you really think about it.

This should be a non issue from this point forward. There will be no more "reporting issues" that have an unsolvable negative impact on the campaign. We've worked to make the upcoming versions of the Adventure Journal completely redundant with any information in the database. While a database is great and a nice tool, we're not going to allow it to slow down the campaign further.

Use your adventure journal. All adventures, scenarios, and decisions made post-Gencon have taken the use of Adventure Journals into account. Whether the database works flawlessly tomorrow for every single RPGA player in the known universe, or whether it begins spitting out grape-flavored string cheese, there will no longer be any hold up to "reporting" because the documentation will also be taken care of at the table in addition to the database.

It's not an ideal solution, but it IS a solution. The paperwork isn't massive, it takes no more than 15 minutes at the most for the DM (usually about 5 minutes if you're a master ;) ), but as I said before, we work way too hard to let some strange conflict between 1's and 0's get in the way of us running a fun and successful campaign.

What about XP for levels and gold? Are you going to be able to trak these in the adventure journals?

Well spoken, Factionmaster. :)

Even with the reporting problems, the fact that I have signed adventure journals for all six of my BWC sessions (5 at GenCon, 1 DM's Mark home session) makes me confident that I'll eventually get what I earned.

When the Campaign Journals are updated, please consider adding a space for XP and EV earned per adventure that the DM can sign off for. The current journal lacks that particular capacity, and I think such written documentation would go a long way toward assuaging the fears of players that their earning would be lost.

I am running a Cabal of Shadows mod on the 1st weekend in Oct. I know one of the pc's did Well of Woe. My question is this. If his database is not updated before my mod. how does he/we use his adventure journal to determine gold and xp? Or, does he need to assume he is still lvl 1 and run his pc as is? He ran the mod at Dragoncon and I know he got the journal filled out as I was with him running my CoL pc.

Well of Woe were great mods btw.

Thanks,
Butterface

My BWC game is September 30th, if the PC's haven't received their Dragon*con updates by then, I'm having them continue to play at first level. It sucks, but we don't know how much xp/gold they've gained.

Hail and well met, good Klawgrinn! Look for me at Winter Fantasy; I'll be there running whatever Blackwheel mods are up at that point.

I support this thread. Over a month and my character still hasn't received credit for a three-round mod. XP/GP long overdue!

Well, this is completely insane.

The website says my daughter and I played two rounds of the Open, and not our three rounds of Xendrik. I still don't know what happened to our characters (no updates...)

I dunno... is there anything that can be done? Is there an administrator I can write to in order to get something done?

Ugh.............

Well I've recieved reward points for Blackwheel 1 and the Open twice, as well as Blackwheel 2. It appears I've only recieved cash and xp for one of the 2 Blackwheels, and nothing at all for well of woe. Are we going to see this resolved anytime soon?

Same issue here: BWC1 & 2 are posted but no Well of Woe - except there are no story certificates on my BWC2: Price of Progress mod - and I know I earned some at Herrbard's table on Saturday at GenCon and have the Adventure Journal to prove it. I am waiting patiently for database resolution of this, or for the factionmasters to unveil the new system where we can track stuff by Adventure Journal alone (a great thing, IMO).

I can speak for at least my core group of 8 gamers in Maryland/DC when I say: We love Xen'drik Expeditions and we want to see the campaign succeed! These database problems, though annoying as heck, will NOT keep us from playing in and supporting the campaign.

Thanks to all the factionmasters for their hard work and tenacity... we know things will get better eventually and this campaign will fulfill its potential. I urge others to stick with it and keep playing because the play's the thing!

Best,
Nick
