| brucehardy01-02-07, 12:32 PM | Just tried to order the Well of Woe modules and even though the expiration date has been changed from Jan 31, 2007 to the 17th, I have found that I cannot order any XE modules. When you put the filter in nothing shows up. Anyone know we can no longer get these before they expire? |
| quizboy01-02-07, 03:38 PM | Bruce, I had some difficulty checking out some games yesterday as well. I moved the date back from the 17th to an earlier date, and then the games showed up. I'd try to see if you can move the dates to a previous day (16th or 17th now). --Steven |
| brucehardy01-02-07, 05:00 PM | Thanks Steven, I tried again using the 16th it still did not show up. I tried the 15th, but for some reason it said it must be at least 2 weeks in the future and so it does not allow any earlier dates. |
| brucehardy01-02-07, 05:16 PM | Found out that a retail day must be 2 weeks in advance. So I tried again as a home day that must be 5 days in advance with a date of 7 Jan and it still was not there. Have they unofficially retired these games? |
| grahamdrew01-04-07, 01:16 PM | Yesterday I was able to order all three Well of Woe modules for a Game Day. Andrew Beard |
| firebeetle01-04-07, 01:25 PM | I wasn't able to order any Xen'drik mods today :weep: |
| brucehardy01-05-07, 07:01 PM | Just tried again. I guess I will need to send an email to RPGA HQ |
| Mherduwynn01-05-07, 09:43 PM | I just wanted players and GMs to know that we are looking into the ordering system to make sure there isn't something we can personally fix. If there is, rest assured we'll handle it. There have been several reports of modules not be available and we take this issue very seriously. -A |
| MerricB01-06-07, 05:57 PM | I just wanted players and GMs to know that we are looking into the ordering system to make sure there isn't something we can personally fix. If there is, rest assured we'll handle it. There have been several reports of modules not be available and we take this issue very seriously. It's a pity you changed the dates they'd be available, then. The original Well of Woe dates were stupid beyond belief. The new ones would have been fine from the start, but the changes mean that I can no longer run them for my players, as all our plans were based on them being available until the end of January. All without any posting on the RPGA site to say that you were doing so. What a fiasco the Xen'drik Expeditions campaign is turning into. Just like Mark of Heroes, and Legacy of the Green Regent. |
| pedr01-06-07, 06:17 PM | To be honest I doubt that the Factionmasters chose to shorten the availability windows. They were probably set, then the database people started to get ready for D&D eXPerience, they realised that there had been problems the previous year with unreported pre-bump events at the level-bump date and wanted a longer time between the retirement date and the level-bump. Which doesn't mean, of course, that it isn't a fiasco. This is one serious problem with the limited span of a D&D Campaigns campaign - there isn't really time for teething problems to be ironed out. Having said that, I think that each campaign is learning from the failures of the previous one, and at least now we have some dedicated volunteers who are trying hard to produce the best campaign they can, instead of just one person at HQ whose commitment to player satisfaction was somewhat dubious. |
| DMR01-06-07, 06:30 PM | For what it's worth, I'd really like to order the "Well of Woe" series also. I thought I had more time and now it looks like I've missed the boat. This totally bums me out, because I was looking forward to getting in on this campaign from the beginning. If there's any way to make these available again, please do so. |
| pedr01-06-07, 07:04 PM | I just tried to set up a home-game event for 12th January to see if it would work, and the Well of Woe modules were there available for me to choose. Just make sure you have 'home' as both the Type of Show and Location fields, and note you'll have to set up two events as you can only have two scenarios for a home event and there are three parts to Well of Woe. |
| Skerrit01-08-07, 01:51 PM | You are welcome to blame the FMs if you like, though it wasn't really a choice we made. It turns out that the shorter deadline occurred because of problems with the database/level bump discovered with the MOH campaign. Many of you might recall being 9th or 10th level and then having the level bump hit and being pulled back to 8th? It the dates weren't shortened (something the FMs didn't know about when planning the schedule), that would happen in XE as well. |

Doesn't HQ see the disadvantages to the shortened play times???? Or cause the play numbers are "high" is the the glass is half full?? A lot of people in our area haven't played XE or MOH and I think these new concerns led some more support of those having issues with the D&D campaign model. Mike |
| firebeetle01-08-07, 04:26 PM | Just tried, STILL can't sign them up. What gives?:( |
| Bravesword01-08-07, 06:48 PM | Dear Sirs, I planned my games considering the time span of the faction adventure # 3 and Well of Woe until the end of January. I have two groups (total: 8 players) that are beginning to play Eberron here in Brazil, and they are enjoying the campaign a lot. I just tried to download the game modules (well of woe round 1, 2 and 3 and faction adv. # 3) but I could not do it. Could anyone please inform me if would be possible to fix this problem, so I can organize new dates new home games? I know that is very important to fix everything to avoid the problems that you had with previous campaigns, but is very bad to position my players that we won´t be playing four adventures from XE, and we didn´t even received a warning about these problems. If we received some report earlier, I thinks that many DMs would try to to download earlier the adventures. I tried to put the new date before Jan/17/2007 for a home game, but evenr this option did not show the faction adventures or the well of woe adventures (that expirate at 1/17/2007). I really hope that you can consider this when you try to fix the problem. My players and me are enjoying this campaign very much and I don´t want to give to them this "bad news" Please see what can be done, and position us, please. Thanks, |
| DMR01-08-07, 06:59 PM | Is there any way to get them "unofficially"? I mean, if they're retired for official play, and there's no way to play them and get credit, okay, so be it. But can't I get them and play them "off the record", just to know what's going on in the campaign? |
| pedr01-08-07, 07:06 PM | You can still get all of the events as Home games. You need to set up a Home event (well more, as you can only get two scenarios per event). These are available today (I checked)... you need to order five days ahead of your event so the last day you will be able to order them is the 12th (by midnight Seattle time!) To make sure you get access to them, set both 'Type of Show' and 'Location' to 'Home' |
| smerwin2901-08-07, 07:24 PM | Right now, if you want access to ordering the available XE adventures, you have to do the following: --Make sure you select the Type of Show as "Home." --Make sure you select the Location Type as "Home." --Make sure the dates you select are BEFORE 1/18/07. (Also note the American formatting of the date.) With a home game, you are going to be limited to two (2) sessions, so if you are trying to run more you will have to order multiple events. If you do that, you should have access to all 3 rounds of Well of Woe, Mere of Shattered Souls, and all of the Faction 3 adventures and DM's Marks. As to the complaints, all I can say is, "No kidding." It's not like the Factionmasters are patting each other on the back and saying, "Heh, I guess we showed them." We were not aware the database would have to be shut down so early to accomodate the level bump. When we found out, we were very unhappy. Now that we know this, we will do our best to schedule things so that modules will not be released so close to their retirement date. The campaign is what it is, and this is part of it. I'm sorry if it makes the campaign unplayable for some people. I, and the other Factionmasters, are still going to give our full attention to the campaign and put out the best product we can. | firebeetle01-09-07, 03:28 PM | Ah, I see. Is there a place where I can actually see the mod descriptions including dates online. My Dyvers website does a great job of noting what mod can be played when. Outside of the ordering system, I can't find the descriptions, date, codes, nothing. I'm not saying they are not there, just that I've had a devil of a time finding them. 1/18 is an awful date, it's a Thursday. "I could never get the hang of Thursdays." Who can play an all-day mod on a weekday? This Saturday is now out, is there any chance the deadline can be extended to include the weekend, say 1/22/01? I ran Well of Woe like crazy over Gen Con weekend, and I'd like one more chance to run it for my home group but didn't get to last semester (I'm an overwhelmed grad student.) |
| pedr01-09-07, 03:54 PM | https://events.wizards.com/RPGAWeb/external/scenarios.asp Not the easiest way to view them, but that's the official information. |
| Bravesword01-09-07, 04:19 PM | Thanks for the help. Yesterday I couldn´t get the adventures, even as home games (I put the place and the location as “home”, but yesterday I definitively couldn´t get them!). But today the adventures were available, so I downloaded them and I´m already preparing my two groups for play. We have a lot of players here in Brazil who are enjoying the campaign… I hope that they could organize a new for Forgotten Realms too… hehehe… :D See ya! |
| brucehardy01-09-07, 05:59 PM | I was also able to finally get the modules today. Though I had to get them as a game day instead of a retail day. Thanks to whoever fixed the problem. |
| DMR01-09-07, 09:27 PM | I was also able to finally download today. Whoever took care of this - thank you very much! |
| Harliquinn01-10-07, 12:51 PM | One thing to keep in mind is that you have a week to 10 days to enter the results of an adventure after the date you schedule it for. So, for instance, if you scheduled something for the 17th but weren't able to play it then, you could likely play it over the following weekend and still get it recorded in time for the database (which I believe goes off line 1/30/07). |

Thank you! Most helpful advice all year! 5 minutes later: 'SWOUNDS! I STILL CAN'T GET IT TO SHOW UP! 'SLIDS! 'SBLOOD! 30 hours later: Finally, after trying again and again, for no explicable reason, I was able to order these. All I can say is that is was probably divine intervention. |

Shawn Crimson Codex Guy I was unaware of the date change and as it is now less than 5 days away (the minimum for setting up a home game), there is no way for me to order ANY additional XE adventures for my home game period. I understand the reasoning behind the change and wonder if there's any way for DMs to file for an allowance on a case-by-case basis to have the events added to their schedule as long as said DM still reports the events by the end of the month. I'm not interested in disappointing my players and setting our gaming schedule all askew if there's any way to avoid it. |
| catsclaw01-14-07, 11:06 PM | Seriously, the ordering of mods for the RPGA is just a joke. I busted my ass to find someone to judge a couple of XE mods before they expired, put together a table and finally convinced someone to run one before Tuesday, and just now they email me and say because they didn't bother ordering it before today, they can no longer get a copy and run it. I would have taken care of it and ordered the mods when I started putting a table together over a week ago, but if I had done that the system would have shut me out and prevented me from playing and getting credit for the mod. Is there any way to fix this, or do I just have to cancel on everyone and give up organizing tables? |

If you ordered it as a gameday (and were willing to have your contact details on the RPGA events calendar so others could join you if they wanted) then you could have played in it even if you ordered it. You do need to give 14 days notice, though. For future reference. Is there any way to fix this, or do I just have to cancel on everyone and give up organizing tables?I don't believe there's any way to fix this now. The only possibilities are to email rpgasanctioning@wizards.com but I imagine that they don't make exceptions to the RPGA general rules, or find someone who has them ordered and would be willing to report the modules for you. |

We're planning on playing it on Tuesday, and would appreciate if we could get a copy of the mod and piggy-back our reporting. |
| Kelvane01-16-07, 12:27 AM | Sorry that one is already reported. But if you want to play any of the other factions or the expedition mod, I haven't reported those yet. |

| dreamwolf01-16-07, 04:39 PM | So, I actually managed to order the modules for a home game this past weekend, then we had to postpone due to player schedule issues, and I managed to miss my window to download Mere of Shattered Souls. I have it ordered, and I'm waiting to report it until we get to play it, but I can't get the file anymore. Does anyone have a copy they could send me? I swear I ordered it... |
