| ccerose09-19-06, 12:08 AM | I ran characters in most of the Xen'drik Expeditions mods at Conquest (in San Francisco) over Labor Day weekend. It's been over two weeks and nothing has been posted. I don't even have the player points. This past weekend, 9/15-9/16 I ran a few of those mods for my local RPGA group. I posted them this morning and all the players have the RPGA reward points and their characters are up to date on the tracker page. It's BS like this that drove me away from the RPGA once before. I'm hoping I don't get burned again. |

It's a big enough job running the things, so reporting might take a slightly back seat to dealing with various other things you put off while planning the convention. Secondly, particularly with Xen'drik Expeditions, there might be a reluctance to report when there are rumours that the character tracker isn't working properly, or when some of the DMs have still not had games they played at GenCon (or Origins? or Dragon*Con? etc) reported. I delayed reporting a gameday I ran for the full 8 days as I was concerned that if the system saw that someone had already DM'd a scenario by the time the event they played it at is reported, they might not get the credit for playing, which is less of an issue in LG etc where all you're losing is a few player points - but is a significant one in XE where you're losing out on EV and XP for your character. I reported the event, in the end, and am leaving it to the players to sort out any problems - which there clearly shouldn't be, as the dates of playing and DMing are three weeks apart! Still, one never can tell with the RPGA system, and so I've still got my fingers crossed! |

| Tonus09-29-06, 11:52 PM | The database problem (at least the character entry problem I encountered) was fixed a couple weeks ago. Yet here it is, a month after ConQuest, and none of the sessions have yet been recorded. I am just about ready to blow off this campaign. It reminds me of what happened with the launch of MoH -- I played a couple sessions when it first started, one of which didn't get reported until after the first level kick, the other of which hasn't been reported at all. I don't understand, if you can't get it right on the third try, why RPGA is persisting in running this type of campaign. If you can't do the database right, do timely entries, and keep everything needed in the online documentation, why do it at all? Even if it worked, there is still a vast amount of paperwork involved with the adventure journals - to further subject us to a parallel (and non-functioning) online system as well is mind boggling. The "living" style campaign may be paper intensive, but at least it worked. |

You just need to wait a week or two so we can publish the "average XP/EV earned" for the first 2 adventures based on the original "DB mostly..." system. It won't be a problem again from this point forward, ever, at all. DM's will always have the EV and XP as their players leave the table. Uh.... nevermind, see this post: http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=712359 |
| Senhouse09-30-06, 09:19 AM | This may not be in you realm of knowledge Kiddoc, but any idea how this problem will be fixed for Mark of Heroes? Not that it matters, since I won't play it until my character isn't marked DEAD for no reason, but I am curious anyway in case he ever gets fixed. Chris |

I feel terrible for you though, you guys put a lot of time and effort into your characters. That's why the Factionmasters here didn't want to suffer the same fate as other campaigns. Given the choice of being "just electronic" we opted for a slightly more complex system (paperwork, ugh ;) ) to make absolutely sure that your characters would be safe and well-documented in a timely fashion. |
| Senhouse09-30-06, 12:09 PM | Thanks for the quick reply. I'm pretty excited that you guys have given us official XP/GP rewards so we can play the campaign and not have to worry about the database. Chris |

Uh.... nevermind, see this post: http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=712359 Thanks for the link, but it still doesn't address the complaint the lack of reward points being listed. It's pretty disheatening to check your activity only to read: You currently have no active points or play data associated with your RPGA Account |
