I've been wanting to play in XE for some time, but I haven't been able to find any games, and either the dms i know don't like Eberron that much or don't want to run an rpga campaign.

I haven't been able to find any dms in local stores also, so I turn to online gaming.

I never played dnd online so I'm asking if there aren't any dms/players interested in palying online or were can I find some.

And for some clarification on sending and receiving the signed character sheets.

Thanks.

I'm poking my assorted friends to see if they'd like to play one (or more?) of the XE campaigns online, since we all live in different states and I'm already running all 4 factions for a local retail store.

We use Fantasy Grounds, and my friends are fairly unlikely to play at any Cons, or in retail, so getting a signed journal is fairly moot for us.

That said, however, if I can get this off the ground, and we have room for more players, perhaps something can be worked out - I have a digital certificate, which by law, if I'm not mistaken, is as valid as a paper signature (I seem to recall a big to-do about Clinton signing that bill digitally and by hand for full legality circa 1995).

If I had "strangers" in my game I could send e-mails digitally signed for full authentication - assuming other GMs would trust that.

. . . wow. . . I just realized what a rambling geek I am.

Anyhow, that's one potential option. Signed e-mails with digital certs. ~shrug~

I'd definately be interested in the occasional online game. There's not a huge XE community here in the UK (at least that I've found!!) and so getting the chance to play some mods which I could then run for the group of players I know about would be very useful.

Anyone feel like organising something?! I still need all the #2 faction mods, and haven't played any DM's Marks.

I've not used Fantasy Grounds, but might consider getting a copy - is it a product you have to buy? I've played using OpenRPG a few times and that works quite well, in a bare-bones kind of way. The advantage: it's free!!

Yes you have to pay for fantasy grounds. And for now that's something I can't do(saving for the holidays).
But if you are planning on something please PM me.

I checked out Fantasy Grounds and played around with the free demo - that is one cool program! If I had to resort to online play, that's how I would want to do it.

I've saw in a forum a comaprison between FG and OpenRPG and it's seems OpenRpg doesn't really have much disadvange, only better graphics and you can edit your sheets in game and openrpg uses a different type of sheet managing.

Haven't teste anyone of them yet.

And the demo is missing a fair amount of the most recent features.

What's more, FGII (free upgrade) is due out soon and I'm fortunate enough to be in the beta-test. It's going to get a LOT cooler.

I'm interested in some online play as well. Particularly the Crimson Codex DM's Marks, although I'm up for other faction adventures as well.

I would really, really like to play. I've been trying to play since the beginning of the campaign and you'd think in a city the size of Los Angeles you'd get into a game . . .

Please, please, please let me know if something develops. I'm already extremely upset about missing the first few mods.

seems i'm the most active in this thread (i really want to play.lol)

more people interested good, as I said all we need is a DM and the program to run the game, I would go for OpenRPG since it's free.

But now aquestion for the Dms how do you sue/prove you have, campaign cards, minis that unlock stuff in fastpaly chars(this is almost useless sinco you don't use them) and stuff you would normaly present fisicly?(hope they check this thread)

I've run a few of these online. In general, it is done on the honor system. You email what your card stack is, if you're using a fastplay mini (no one I've run for has), etc. There is really no other easy way to do it. You could require people to scan their cards and email you the jpeg, but I think that is overkill.

Keep in mind that adventure journals need to be signed. I've had people scan them and email them to me, so that I can sign and return them. I've met people at cons we were both attending and signed them then. I even filled out one for a first time player and sent it to him, so he could fill in the rest of his information.

Whatever works best for those playing is best. (and I recommend OpenRPG to play). A small learning curve to overcome, but it is worthwhile.

are you up for some more players? :P
If you are PM me with info.

I've missed the first mods but I was hoping I wouldn't miss many more.

If you are interested in on-line play, I strongly recommend getting on board with the yahoo group OnlineGameDay. We're starting to run Xen'Drik games there, as well as LG.

Starting with the next XECS, we will be announcing that people who play online games can have their Adventure Journal signed with an email address rather than a full signature. This should take a lot of the hassle out of running online games.

Cool, that's what I had the players do, anyway, with the promise that if they needed more, I would sign them at DDExp.

There is a need of a DM and some more players to play Crimson Codex 3 Native Inteligence. If anyone is interested please join the OnlineGameDay yahoo group to discuss it.
