Xen'Drik Expeditions for Dummies? [Archive] - Wizards Community

I've gotten many, many queries from people who would like to try Xen'Drik, but who are terribly confused by the new terms and concepts that are used in the campaign. When referred to the campaign standards, their confusion grows as they try to wade through the 10 pages of "fine print' in the 5 minutes before the game starts.

I've tried to come up with some "stock" answers for things like "what is a card stack and how does that relate to action points?" and "what is an expansion slot and what do I use it for?" Has anyone written something like an "XE for Dummies" that I could use, rather than explaining the same sorts of things over and over? If not, can I consolidate some of my thoughts and have the FMs look at it for making it into a possible handout to give to confused players?

Thanks,
Marcia

I think this is a great idea. I wish I would have thought of it a couple of years ago. (when Mark of Heroes started)

Marcia,

I'd love to see what you've put together, and I'd be happy to assist. I can usually knock out the fine points in about a 2 minute conversation, but having the "cliff notes" in writing would be great!

Let me know what I can do to help you out.

I wonder if the sections from Mark of Heroes on the deities' domain list and region of origin can be copied over to Xen'drik. I know several players who play who only have a PHB, and I am not going to turn them away just because they haven't played Eberron before.

I put together a Xendrik Assistant (http://scottrpg.pbwiki.com/XendrikGames), as a useful starting place. It's closer to a page primer than the full set of Campaign Standards. I hope it proves useful to you.

I've had the exact same feeling. Check out:

Feel free to edit what you find there.

Can I use your Assistant info on the Xendrikinfo page, please?

Sure. Feel free to copy it, or just link off to it.
