| Chimera24506-28-07, 03:07 AM | In my 3.5 DMG, in the Epic section, it says for the druid, that it can have a number of hit dice of animal companions equal to twice its level, as normal. But that's 3.0 animal companion rules. In 3.5, the druid gets just one companion, which gets more powerful as the druid's level increases. I'm thinking they just copied from the Epic Level Handbook, and forgot to fix that. But there's a druid in the party, and eventually, I'm going to need to know the correct rules for epic animal companions... |

| bluemage5506-29-07, 05:55 AM | I just don't understand why they didn't give Paladin mounts the same rate. They really get the shaft at epic. ;) I agree. Druids (an already overpowered class on their own) get an awesome animal companion that advances 2 HD per three class levels. Paladins get a weaker mount, have much fewer options for what that mount will be, have to wait until 5th level, and the mount isn't even around all the time. Perhaps we should consider bumping paladin mount advancement up to 2 HD/3 levels for the revision thread? |
| rob_douglas06-29-07, 10:43 AM | I guess we should move that question over there and see if it flies. As for not being around all the time - well at epic they get 40 hours a day. That is pretty much all the time. ;) They should get more summons per day as well - more for the revision thread, since summoning wasn't an issue in 3E. Heck, they can now be bansihed! Ok, sorry, this is off thread.... ROB |
