HI

IN case anyone missed it:

http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/eo/20070608a

At the bottom of the page is a 30-headed Big-T. CR40.
Not really my cup of tea, but there you go.

Bit sad. I'd prefer to see original epic monsters to "Haha, the Tarrasque with lots of heads".

Me too. Not to mention that they used Spellcasting Harrier from the ELH even though it was updated and improved in Draconomicon, from which they got other feats, and which matches the SRD. And if you are going to do it - please take off the Toughness(x6) feats! Ooo - CR40,+18hp....wooooo!!!

And he mentions how the DC80 Fort save will kill you - except that no one in his right mind wouldn't have Fortification going against that thing! It does have a nice counter to Power Attack though.

Well it wasn't really an epic thread, it's just an extension of multi-headed monsters. Just happens to be that its CR is 40. :p

Hey I say if the cr is high enough I do not care what it is. Heck it could be a bunny (with a machine gun) for alll I care. I like monsters with 1 head more though

P.S: I did actualy make a bunny and a cat with machine guns for dnd and stuck them out agiant my players.

What I find hilarious is that a "CR 40" monster still has no effective way of dealing with flying threats.

Well, technically, its "true" cr is 29, revised upwards because he felt that cr29 was too low.

I particularly loved that part where he was musing about whether to slap on the half-fiend template for blasphemy at caster lv 106...:D

Thankfully there are epic wards. ;)

I found it more interesting when I applied the multiheaded template to a great wyrm red dragon, with hilarious results. The monster could vomit fire in a radius around it the distance of it's normal cone [due to the number of angles possible] and the reflex DC was nigh imposssible. True the players could just ward against fire but breathweapon adamixture is only a 9th level spell and few expect a red dragon to do cold damage.
But the multiheaded tarrasque would go down like a punk fighitng anything over 26th level. It's pathetic will save would be it's Achielies heel. A +43 isn't much compared to epic spells that turn your brain into mush or remove a piece of it from your head [psionic but meh]. So i agree this 'epic' monster is laughable.

30-head Tarrask? Is it all in the same universe or do you have to travel into other dimensions to get the other 29?
