After doing some heavy consideration, as well as examination of the character I had tried to formulate, I came to realize a pretty stupid mistake for me to make: a creature who is non-chaotic and non-evil can NOT take upon themselves the Warlock class. Plus, it's kinda stupid to take on a class like that without any previous history of devil-pacts or demonic interbreeding. So, I have decided to take upon myself the task of creating a class that will be a mixture of a class and template. It will be a transformational class more akin to the Dragonfire Adept, but specifically aimed at creating a character who is at their very core are sentient magic. I will post this class, once finished in the Class/Prestige Class forum for people to peruse, and will edit this creture accordingly, once I have created this class. Until then, ciao.

So, any level character can confront it? What defines victory? I'm really thinking some diplomacy abuse could solve this without a blow.

Okay, I should've clarified: any character of equal or lower CR (or ECL, whichever term you prefer), can face him. Victory is the death of your opponent, or making your opponent the designated battle zone, which I will make up later.

Well, I just found the simple way:
Cleric whatever (I don't care to calculate the Caster level required)/ Cosmic Descryer 10
Round 0: Cast foresight
Round 1: Celerity then Time Stop (empowered if necesarry)
Round 2: Cast Dictum at a suitably rediculus caster level. There was a level 20 build utilizing ur priest that got over 80, so I'm gunna say dictum is the cheese solution to this. I don't feel that that is a fair solution though. Does that work?

Round 0: Cast Foresight (because who doesn't want that little voice at the back of their head?)
Round 1: Cast Weave Armor and Greater Arcane Fusion, receiving the effects of Chasing Perfection and Sharptooth.
Round 2: Cast Ultima and Moment of Prescience.

What is this Dictum you speak of, and how does it work?

Dictum (PHB) level 7 spell. If my caster level is at least 10 higher than your hit dice I auto win. The law version of holy word. That's why I think it is cheezy. Celerity assures that the cleric goes first.

Celerity does not assure you go first, and there is always the Initiative issue. Celerity basically just lets you do a standard action within the round you cast the spell in. I'm not sure that Dictum SHOULD work on creatures above 21 HD or quasi-dieties, but that's just my opinion. I think, at the very least, some sort of saving throw should be allowed for them to resist said effects, because the term "nonlawful creature" affects quite a wide area of beings in D&D. By the way, just nitpicking, but you did not specify a move action, and though I had yet to make the map, you did not specify a move action, although I think we can assume that you would have gotten items and such to ensure that you move at a proper speed to be adjacent to me, yes?

Note how I stated that was the incredibly cheesy way to do it. Note the time stop. Timestop after the celerity assures the cleric can move into position and dictum. A cleric with CL boosts (every cleric) can kill anything with the right varient of holy word. That is why dictum is the cheezy answer.

Initiative: Cleric loses. Cleric casts celerity. Cleric casts timestop. Initiative is assured.

This is why I consider this solution cheezy. It works on any creature of the opposed allignment

I'm sure other people will have actual battle oriented builds that don't rely around broken spells.

Yeah, I agree with Dictum being broken, although careful studying of the spell reveals a few things: Dictum is a Lawful & Sonic spell, yet no Sonic damage is done. It almost seems like a mind-affecting effect (which Draco is immune to), the caster's belief forcing the creature to be deafened, slowed, paralyzed and possibly killed, with the possibility of banishing their body to their natural plane of existence. I think, with creatures of 21+ HD, they should be allowed a Will saving throw to negate the effect. The other thing I think you didn't quite take into consideration is Draco's Awesome Aura. Your cleric may just be standing there, gaping like an idiot.

Immunity to fear is pretty easy to get. I've got the build ready:
Cleric 3/ Church inquisitor 4/ Prestige paladin 3/ Fist of raziel 10/ Cosmic Descryer 7/ Fist of raziel +X
That takes care of it real easy, but is so cleric cheese stuffed that I don't consider it a real battle.

It's not a Frightful Presence-esque effect. It's a Divine Aura. At least when roleplaying, you would think it would have SOME effect on a cleric kind of player.

Prestige Pally gives flat out immunity to fear. Doesnt care about the source; just doesnt know fear. Note that all this is without adding in epic spell buffs or epic equipment. Dictum is just a broken spell.

Why one level of warlock?

Sorry, had to ask.

Those saves are really low....a 100th level caster could easily kill it with one spell:

Modified Momento Mori:

Necromancy [Death]
Spellcraft DC: 175
Components: None
Casting time: 1 quickened action
Range 1,500 feet
Target: One Living Creature
Duration: Instantaneous
Saving Throw: Fortitude partial (see text)
Spell Resistance: Yes

To Develop 1,575,000 GP; 32 days; 63000 XP. Seed: slay (DC 25). Factor, increase to 160 HD (+8), quickened (+28), no verbal or somatic components (+4), double range *5 (+10), +100 to DC of subjects save (+200). Mitigating Factor: 100d6 backlash (-100)

With spell penetration and epic spell penetration and cast by a 106th level caster, this will never fail a caster level check against Draco’s Spell Resistance.

The Save DC would probably be something like this: 20 (Base) + 40 (INT: I’m thinking I could easily get this higher but we’ll stick to that for now) + 100 = 160.

Draco would need to score a 20 to survive this.

And that's why Death Ward is a good idea to have by level 100. :D

And I too, must ask: why one level of Warlock? Is Serpent's Tongue that good? And what does Serpent's Tongue do, anyway?

It just has to have CR 108 or less?

A Pseudonatural DvR 20 (IIRC thats +26, right?) being with 112 class levels. It's immune to almost all this lizard's spells (SR 560, yaya!), it ALWAYS beats the lizard on rank checks, and dealing 7500 untyped damage is a joke for a caster of such caliber.

Even if it was a DvR 20 teletubby, it would just have to take the Rejuvenation SDA and Draco would be helpless to destroy it. Since he'd never win on rank checks, it would keep auto-reviving no matter what he did.

Honestly, where's the Regeneration/–? Where's the Cosmic Descryer levels to get a CL in the thousands? Where's Quicken SDAs mixed with Multispell to cast dozens of spells per round? Where's the LOVE?

It's not really epic until it can beat the Brobdingnagian Teratoid Tarrasque (http://d20npcs.wikia.com/wiki/Brobdingnagian_Teratoid_Tarrasque) in a fight.

Sorry, had to ask.

To give him the scent ability, and because were he to advance, he would advance in Warlock levels. Scent can be a powerful tool. It's one more detection method of those trying to hide around you, if the blindsense and Listen and Spot checks aren't enough, not to mention his Robe of Eyes.

Perhaps I was unclear with my intention when I posted this character. I want to have a little fun. I would like someone to make a character of equal CR who is good at what they do (and can actually roleplay well), not create strategies about how to specifically single out this character's weaknesses and kill it. Great, you can do math. But can you play?

Not necessarily. If you use a monstrous creature as the base and apply non-associated class levels to it, you only increase the CR by 1 for every 2 class levels until its non-associated class levels equals its racial Hit Dice. Choose a monster with ridiculously high Hit Dice for its CR, and you could easily wind up with 112 class levels and still be under CR 108. Does it make sense? Nope. It it balanced at epic levels? Hells no. But that's why RAW is 100% CharOp-approved.

As an example: you can give the tarrasque 48 levels in a spellcasting class for only a +24 CR increase, bringing him up to CR 44. To bump him up to 112 class levels, you would have to add 64 more class levels for a +64 CR increase, which would make him exactly CR 108 - with 112 class levels and 160 total Hit Dice. I'm sure you could easily find something with an even better Hit Dice to CR ratio to abuse this rule with.

I hate the rule too, and I never actually use it when I'm making NPCs - like my tarrasque example, it can lead to ridiculous situations. That, and it's very difficult to judge what exactly counts as associated or non-associated (a dragon, for example - its obviously got good melee potential, but its also got a lot of magical abilities too, so it would seem that just about everything is associated for them [except maybe rogue]).

Yeah, I think I'll keep to using my own method for my NPCs... but perhaps lower the CR to make people actually *gasp* THINK in order to challange this character appropriately.

I'm assuming this is an arena style challenge, or at least that we start relatively close together.

Thricsvent doesn't know Celerity, so, to be fair, I won't use it either; I'll just ensure that I win initiative. Thircsvent also doesn't have the irritating deflection feats.

Assuming no buff rounds:

Star Elf Spellthief 1/Rogue 1/Fighter 1/Sorcerer 6/Swiftblade 10/Arcane Trickster 56/Cosmic Descryer 7
Feats: Dodge, Mobility, Power Attack (B), Quicken Spell, Twin Spell, Combat Casting, Vile Martial Strike: Scythe, Death Blow, Non-lethal Substitution: Fire, Heighten Spell, Rapid Metamagic, Quick Draw
Epic Feats: Vile Death Strike: Scythe, Improved Combat Casting, Energy Resistance, Improved Spell Capacity x11 (B), Multispell x25
Charisma (only relevant stat, other than Str 13+ and Dex 10+), rolled
15 +2 racial +20 levels +5 inherent +50 enhancement (cloak of charisma +50) = 92 (+41)
Spells/day:

16th 8
15th 8
14th 8

7th 16
6th 16
5th 16
4th 17
3rd 17
2nd 17
1st 17
0th 6

Spells Known (of note): Greater Teleport, Vision, Haste, Scorching Ray, Limited Wish, Mindblank

Items of note: Cloak of Charisma +50, Gloves of Dexterity +50, Tome of Leadership and Influence +5 (read), Tome of Quickness in Action +5 (read), Rod of Excellent Magic x4, +5 Vicious Axiomatic Dragonbane Scythe, Wings of Flying (incorporated into the Cloak of Charisma for x1.5 price).

Thanks to Arcane Reflexes and the gloves of Dexterity, I have an initiative roll of +68, which should beat Thricsvent's even if I roll a 1 and he rolls a 20.

Actions:
Activate Cosmic Connection.
Use an 10th level spell slot to subsume Haste for Innervated speed, using sudden casting (1 quickened spell, one 10th level spell slot),
Cast Haste (note that I am now affected by Perpetual Options, giving me twice the actions), Delay Death, Mindblank, and Beastlands Ferocity (using Limited Wish to emulate Beastlands Ferocity and Delay Death) on myself (1 quickened spell, one 10th level spell slot, 4 8th level spell slots),
Cast Vision to identify the Gem of Heavy Fortification (1 quickened spell, one 10th level spell slot, 1 9th level spell slot, 4 8th level spell slots),
Cast Vision to identify the Ring of Universal Energy Immunity (1 quickened spell, one 10th level spell slot, 2 9th level spell slots, 4 8th level spell slots),
Cast Greater Teleport to move adjacent to the Gem of Heavy Fortification (1 quickened spell, one 10th level spell slot, 2 9th level spell slot, 5 8th level spell slots),
Innervated Speed ends, use Sleight of Hand as a free action to remove the Gem of Heavy Fortification (boosting the skill check as high as needed with Cosmic Connection),
Cast Quickened Greater Teleport to move adjacent to the Ring of Universal Energy Immunity, steal it as a free action with Sleight of Hand (2 quickened spells, 1 11th level spell slot, 1 10th level spell slot, 2 9th level spell slot, 4 8th level spell slots),
Cast Heightened (10th level) Quickened Twinned Split Scorching Ray, using cosmic connection to boost caster level and the attack rolls sky high: 8 rays, each of which does 4d6+30d6 (sneak attack) fire damage. Repeat 6 more times. This will almost certainly do at least 5,000 damage, even accounting for automatically missing on a 1 (9 quickened spells, 7 20th level spell slots, 1 11th level spell slot, 1 10th level spell slot, 2 9th level spell slot, 4 8th level spell slots)
Cast Heightened (10th level) Quickened Twinned Non-lethal Scorching Ray, using cosmic connection to boost caster level and the attack rolls sky high: 6 rays, each of which does 4d6+30d6 (sneak attack) nonlethal fire damage. Repeat 6 more times. This should do at least 3,500 nonlethal damage (16 quickened spells, 7 20th level spell slots, 7 19th level spell slots, 1 11th level spell slot, 1 10th level spell slot, 2 9th level spell slot, 4 8th level spell slots)
Cast Heightened (10th level) Quickened Split Non-lethal Scorching Ray, using cosmic connection to boost caster level and the attack rolls sky high: 4 rays, each of which does 4d6+30d6 (sneak attack) nonlethal fire damage. Repeat 6 more times. This should do at least 2,000 nonlethal damage (22 quickened spells, 7 20th level spell slots, 7 19th level spell slots, 7 18th level spell slots, 1 11th level spell slot, 1 10th level spell slot, 2 9th level spell slot, 4 8th level spell slots).
At this point, Thicsvent will almost certainly have taken enough damage and nonlethal damage to render him unconscious.
Quickdraw the Scythe, and coup de grace Thicsvent, power attacking for full BAB (+45). Damage (2d4+7+90)x4 + 2d6 +2d6 +2d6 +30d6, minimum 432; Thicsvent succeeds his fortitude save only on a 20.
Repeat using the second action from Perpetual Options, in case he rolled a 20 last time.
Thanks to Vile Deathstrike, he can only be raised in a Hallowed or Consecrated area, preventing Full-Life from working.
Use the remaining duration on Delay Death and Beastlands Ferocity to find a cleric willing to True Resurrect you when you die from the Cosmic Connection damage.

My best guess is that odds of Thricsvent surviving are somewhere shy of 1 in 100.

True, I don't go through the trouble of role-playing through, or writing a back story (or, for that matter, a full character). But this character is hardly focused specifically on the weaknesses. Call him a magical assassin; he has plenty of available spells known(and skill points) to find investigative stuff, and with greater teleport (and he could easily have used Plane Shift as well), he could start anywhere on the same plane.

I don't have time for a full-blown play-by-post campaign atm, nor am I particularly interested taking the effort for an 82nd level one against what is frankly not that difficult a challenge.

If you really care:

Feal'thas was still a child, in elven terms, when a Nilshai attack force penetrated the defenses of Sildëyuir, destroying his home and sacrificing his parents on the dark altar of Mak Thuum Nagtha before his very eyes. That horrific event awoke his considerable arcane talents, and though he could not defeat the ethereal theurges, his destructive magics gave him an opening to escape.
Haunted by the terrifying memories, he attempts to escape the psychic pain by rationalizing that life is but an illusion, and that attachment to life is an abomination. Nevertheless, he still remembers the screams of pain and fear on the lips of his dying parents, and so is struck by irrational, paradoxical fear when confronted with the concept of his own death, along with a sick fascination with it. He has arranged to die numerous times, but never without a trusted cleric standing by to raise him; each time, his fear resurges to overcome his fascination and he carefully avoids risk for a time. Inevitably, though, his fascination grows intolerably, and he takes more and more risks until he dies again, repeating the cycle.

After his parents death, he was taken in by a surviving family of Star Elves, now relocated to Evermeet. However, his growing, conflicting psychoses left him unable to endure the contemplative life there. Aware of his growing madness and evil, few there missed him, though they worried for the world.
Now, he is driven primarily by his quest for revenge against anything remotely related to his parents' death, with occasional assaults on those who commit the "abomination" of clinging to life. He also supports himself as an assassin, even joining the infamous Garrote (he believes that the leader and her magic robe will aid him is his quest to annihilate Mak Thuum Nagtha).

His attentions were drawn to Draco Thricsvent for several reasons. First, Draco cherishes and clings to life. Furthermore, in his studies on Evermeet, he learned the history of the elves and their conflicts with dragons, and blames all of dragonkind for weakening the elves to the point where they were forced to withdraw to Sildëyuir and attract the attention of the Nilshai.

Grendel’s Dam is the scourge of the Great Danes, a race of dog men who continually war with each other. Unlike the noble Great Danes, the vile Grendel's dam refuses to pay caningild for those she has wantonly slain.

Grendel’s Dam is highly protective of her lair and possessions, which she keeps immaculately clean of the mud and filth of the surrounding Swamp Bottom area. Grendel’s Dam has killed millions of petty Great Danes for the grievous offense of tracking mud into her lair; it is rumored that her hatred of the Great Danes was originally sparked by a Dane king who spattered her cubic zirconium tiara with his own sacrificial blood.

Grendel’s Dam has innumerable spawn throughout her territory, which she considers to be the entirety of the Great Danish nation. Each and every one of her spawn she names Grendel; how she singles out individual Grendels to scold (typically for leaving their dirty laundry about the lair) remains a mystery even to the world’s eldest sages.

Tiamat, Io and Takhisis are known to be regular Sunday guests in Grendel’s dam’s lair, though she often gets snippy with each of them. Tiamat too vocally hankers after a legitimate grandhatchling, Io too often falls asleep during an engaging discussion regarding the most current knitting techniques and Takhisis is often in a foul mood due to her latest world-domination plot failure.

True, I don't go through the trouble of role-playing through, or writing a back story (or, for that matter, a full character). I don't have time for a full-blown play-by-post campaign atm, nor am I particularly interested taking the effort for an 82nd level one

... and you're still replying... why?

And Tequila Sunrise... your last post makes no sense, being that I can tell fully well that you're not quite taking this as seriously as I am. Are you seriously bothering, or attempting to mock?

I'm serious, even if I'm having a bit too much fun with the rp. Tell me, what value are you using for wealth?

Right... Anyways, I calculated the starting wealth at 261,200,000 gold pieces. Have at it.

Are you interested mainly in combat, or any descent RP chance ?
I have a character that many thought was very interesting. Not because of his power 'or' his hack&slash build.
...
be warned however...If I like the RP experience enough, I can find it really hard to shut up.

I enjoy roleplaying, especially if it's going to be a decent experience. Preferably with those who know how to spell. And don't worry about finding it really hard to shut up, so long as it makes sense. There was a recent foray with a character calling himself "The Sky Lord..." yeah... that was amusing, if somewhat annoying.

There are going to be spelling mistakes inevitably. English is not my mother tongue.
Appart from that, there are no other obstacles.
My character is indeed a 'serious' one. So,
whenever you're ready, I prefer to chat (and thus RP) in the msn environment, where the distractions are very few.

Okay, so I noticed recently a mistake I made as far as the wealth of this character goes. Even though a good chunk of it will be consumed to satisy the Dragon Ascendant prerequisite, I have since found that I have miscalculated the wealth for this particular character. Since realizing that his ECL is well above 100, I've gone back to re-evaluating what it WOULD be. I think I'm going to go by ECL rather than CR anyways, since CR does not seem to be adequate when it comes down to understanding how challanging a monster is. I'll get back to you all shortly with an update.
