adding HD [Archive] - Wizards Community

I have spent at least an hour and a half doing the following

1) scouring the indexs of epic spells/seeds/factors both fan made and official

2) scouring the board for the search feature and not finding it. (I am a noob)

Failing that, I am making a new thread and hoping not to raise anyone's ire.

So, I seem to remember reading somewhere about an epic spell adding HD to a creature. Not adding HD to a creature your making from scratch with Life and Fortify, but adding extra HD to an existing creature. I can't remember how it works but what little I remember seems so unbalanced and ridiculos that it can't be right and I won't post it here.

So if someone could either point me in the direction of the search feature or let me know where to find what I'm looking for (preferably both) I will be eternally grateful.

It's the equivalent of giving free levels, and is completely game-breaking.

I believe the search feature has been having trouble for a while now and I'm not sure if it's a) completely fixed b) available for all users. I know at first only a select few had access so the computer-people could monitor/fix it. :)

And I agree with Bluemage, it is very much like "levels for casting a spell" and therefore unbalanced.

I suppose it might not be impossible to create an epic spell which gives you temp HD or something...not sure of the consequences though.

For searching, I would recommend using google in these two ways:

as for the adding HD I don't know if I simply misinterpreted what I saw or not. Would it be conceivable to create an epic spell that creates another spellcaster (or heck a psion, fighter, or monk for that matter) and then do an instantaneous version of the Fusion power?

EDIT: Actually just an instantaneous version of the fusion power might be enough on it's own. I can totally see an epic necromancer going around sucking people up and stealing their abilities
