Hendel 11-28-07, 01:54 PM	I know this has all been discussed before and I know it may be a moot point when 4th edition comes out, but I will ask the question again. On page 207 of the 3.5 Dungeon Masters Guide it says "For spellcasters, caster level continues to increase after 20th level. Thus, a 23rd-level wizard casts as a 23rd-level character, while a 24th-level paladin’s caster level is 12th (one-half her class level). However, a character’s spells per day don’t increase after 20th level." It just says a character's spells per day don't increase after 20th level, is that character level or class level? My belief is that means class level, otherwise it would be pointless to be a Fighter 20/Wizard 1 (which it is probably is anyway) with the 21st character level being the Wizard level. My real question is it in another WotC book or errata that clarifies what level we are talking about (character vs class)? What about the less reliable FAQ (I am not interested in what gets talked about on these sites, just "official" WotC facts)? Thus a Wizard 10/Psion 10/Cerebremancer 10 (while a 30th level character) would have the full number of spells per day or powers per day as a 20th level caster/manifester with the same stats and items. He would be epic and his BAB and Save progression would be different, but as it relates to number of spells/powers per day and the ability to cast/manifest 9th level speels/powers, it would be identical. From that point the 30th level character mentioned would stop gaining new spells/powers per day and could continue as either an Epic Wizard, an Epic Psion, or an Epic Cerebremancer. Any help?
NoldorForce 11-28-07, 01:59 PM	If you're referring to a class or some part of it, "level" means your (effective) class level unless otherwise given. As is the case here.

Well in ELH FAQ it is clear that an fighter 20/Wizard 20 has all the spells and caster level as a wizard 20 would have.
