From what I've read, the swan song of Dragon has some epic stuff in it: The Time Dragon, from CR 24 at Wyrmling age to CR 90 at Great Wyrm. Sounds really cool. Anyone have this?

Yep - got it. Ecology of the Tarrasque too. And some info on demon lords, including a reworking of Lascer - though he is WAY less powerful than the original.

The Time Dragon repeated the weird writing in Epic Dragons that makes you wonder if it has a special Empower and Maximize ability, or access to different versions of the feats than are in the books as special epic dragon feats.... It is actually a little weak in not haveing Time Duplicate as an SLA. Sure - it becomes immune to all non-instantaneous effects eventually and can use Time Stop at will. But Who can't? ;)

Paizo's last Dragon magazine is an awesome blow-out. El v. Raist? C'mon who hasn't thought about that?

Anyway, I love the idea of the biggest and baddest dragon of 'em all being true neutral, but I hate all time-related stuff in fantasy so I'm pretty split on the time dragon.

I really want Raistlin to win.

If I ever use a time dragon or convert one to 4E, I will make it a chronomancer as well and give it Time Duplicate and a few other Chronomantic spells D

Other than that..it's a great dragon..i love it. I want to sculpt and paint one now :)

I second the Raistlin vote. A true character with depth always wins against a two dimensional icon.

Is it just me or is Chronepsis the perfect patron for the time dragons?

Totally. The article doesn't mention him?

Nope, the article's flavor text is very lackluster. It doesn't make any mention of typical time dragon motivations or associates. In fact, they have no society and apparently go out of their way to avoid contact with mortals and immortals alike . Great adventure material, there.

I don't think Time Dragons have a patron deity. The article says that Time Dragons are powerful enough to directly compete with the draconic deities themselves, also under the society section, Time Dragons prefer to spend time with deities and other powerful immortals. I would assume that other deities look upon the Time Dragons as equals, and hence it is unlikely they will patronize any deity (except perhaps Io as the progenitor of all dragonkind)

The article was no doubt written with the assumption of the rules from Deities and Demigods. With such as the case, a single time dragon really would be Io's patron.

I myself write under the assumption that any non-unique creature, no matter how high in CR, is just a drop in the ocean of even a demideity's power.

... a reworking of Lascer - though he is WAY less powerful than the original.

i'm happy about this, as it makes him a realistic threat for the PCs. who in their adventuring career can ever hope of facing a CR 58 (or whatever it was) creature??

Dragon #297. He was a Paragon Infernal with a bunch of assassin levels.
