Sometimes I stand completely speechless when confronted by the innovative capabilities of the human mind, and such is the case of a friend of mind who thought of this: A Warblade 10/Lasher 10/Warblade 4 with Two-Weapon Fighting, Improved Two-Weapon Fighting, Greater Two-Weapon Fighting, Perfect Two-Weapon Fighting, Oversized Two-Weapon Fighting, 2 Magic Whip-daggers with the Speed Special Abilities, and the Time Stands Still maneuver from Tome Of Battle. If this character uses the Crack of Doom ability of the Lasher and the Time Stands Still maneuver to make 2 Full Attacks, he/she can make 28 attacks in a round! The attacks would be (based on Base Attack only) +16/+16/+16/+16/+11/+6/+1/+16/+16/+16/+16/+11/+6/+1/+16/+16/+16/+16/+11/+6/+1/+16/+16/+16/+16/+11/+6/+1!!!
This is madness!!!!!!

Very nice, but try googling for DisposableHero's record. It's around 1400 if I recall correctly.

What?!? Wow... Well, I searched through his posts but I cannot find it, does anyone know of any link or something?

True, for regular play that's pretty good, though some people may argue that it's not worth taking Lasher. Besides, not all of the attacks will hit, and then you're dealing pitiful whip-dagger damage.

If you want a real blender, check out a Thri-Kreen Dervish. Four arms, each one holding a weapon with five attacks, with Snap Kick, using the Thousand Cuts ability. That's at least 40.

A Thri-Kreen Fang of Lolth X/Maho-bujin 1 with Perfect TWF would work. That's at least 56 attacks without bonuses. (Maho-bujin has a class feature that alters the iterative attack method to -3 per attack rather than -5.)

Sorcerer 10/Master Transmogrifist 10
Polymorph into a 12 headed hydra.
Have each of the head grow 4 ilithid tentacles.
12 bites plus 48 (12*4) tentacles = 60 attacks. Don't forget greater celerity and arcane strike.

28 isn't that hard. Heck, Swiftblade + hydra gets 26 without even trying. Add on evard's menacing tentacles (PH2) for a nice round 28.

This is madness!!!!!!

Madness?....THIS IS CHARACTER OPTIMIZATION!!!!!!
ok nevermind i see your point.

Out of curiosity Taeldrin Laesrash That Thri-Kreen Dervish you mentioned, did he happen to totally eviscerate a half-orc demi-god over on the epic duels board? Good times.

Several people have done several variations on such an idea. It's not just you. :)

It just gets silly in epic levels. Combine Time Stands Still and Thousand Cuts with a Thri-Kreen for...what, 80 attacks?

Actually I was on the receiving end of this combo; I normally stay in core to minimize the cheese.

Niice. You should stick with XPH or ToB if you want to minimize the cheese.

What if you seriously did ToB, some other books, and not core? You could have ToB classes, warlocks & variants, maybe XPH/maybe not, etc...

Well, if you cut out all prep casters and artificers and required melee characters to be using ToB, you'd be pretty cheese free.

The other idea I had was that if you had no per-day powers you could forget about resting and give everyone 1/4 HP+1/4 PP back after each fight and rest when it was important to the story.

That'd be one way to do it. An even easier way would be just cutting pp/hp/spell slots to one fourth and refreshing everything fully after each encounter. HP seems problamatic though.

Well this way you can actually wear PCs down somewhat with difficult encounters. And if everyone starts getting below half health, you know you want to leave the dungeon, so you can avoid death.

Yeah, that sounds good.

In theory it's possible to get infinite attacks well before epic level.

1. Qualify for Shadowlord 4 or CShadow Maruader 5.
2. Get Shadowpounce (make a full round attack action when affected* by teleportation spell)
3. Get leadership, and have a bunch of low level followers cast dimension swap with you.
4. Pro...arbitrary numbers of attacks/round.

*Technically the TSL has to use the ability with the teleportation descriptor. I am sure there is a way to get it to count somehow.

It is still quite possible with psionics to get 4+ full rounds actions a turn (twinned dimension hop, schismed mind dimension hop, dimension door, move action to refocus. Twinning sycronicity beforehand simply makes this absurd.) I can't take credit for this build though... DisposableHero_ came up with the general concept. At epic levels you can start combining things which stack though...

For example, this build's 4 full attack actions plus your build for getting a ton of attack actions/full attack. If the dervish's ability lasted for 1 round, rather than 1 full attack action, it'd be a way to get 4*2 *7 attacks. Or use a large reach weapon and whirlwind, though this is questionably legal (you give up any extra attacks granted by abilities, but shadowpounce isn't an extra attack, it's a full attack.)
