My character is a Golem maker, and this was a very powerful epic level Golem I custom Designed, and had approved by my DM. Hope you guys find it as fun as I do. It could also make a great challenge for epic PC's.

Diamond Golem

A Diamond Golem Stands about 25 feet tall, and weighs about 30,000 pounds. It appears as a huge glimmering humanoid being which is almost completely Transparent.

A diamond Golem cannot speak or make any vocal noise nor does it have any distinguishable odor. It moves with a slow, smooth stride.

Combat

A Diamond Golem attacks with it's arms, the end of which are spiked with long, sharp, slashing blades made of diamond. It also uses it's Spell-like-abilities to great affect.

Breath Weapon (Su): Once every 1d4 minutes, a Diamond golem can use a Prismatic Spray breath weapon, as the spell cast by a 25th level caster.

Prismatic Wall (Su): When commanded to do so, the Diamond Golem is able to protect itself with a prismatic wall around itself, as the spell cast by a 25th level caster. This Prismatic wall covers the surface of the Golem's body, acting as an armor. The Golem cannot be hurt by any attack which is blocked by Prismatic Wall. Further, any attacks dealt by the golem, have a prismatic wall effect, in addition to their normal damage.

Prismatic Blur (Ex): The reflected and refracted light that constantly surrounds the golem blurs it's outline and makes it difficult to properly target. All melee and ranged attacks against the golem have a 50% miss chance.

Reflection (Ex): Any ray spell cast on the Diamond Golem is completely reflected back at the caster as though affected by a successful spell turning.

Immunity to Magic (Ex): A Diamond Golem is immune to any spell or spell-like ability that allows spell resistance. In addition, certain spells and effects function differently against the creature, as noted below.
A magical attack that deals fire damage to the golem does not cause damage, but does cause superficial charring of the surface of the golem. This causes the golem to lose the benefit of it's Prismatic Blur until the blackened soot is polished away. The effect can be removed with thorough polishing, or the prestidigitation spell used for a full minute to fully clean the golem.

Construction
A diamond golem is constructed from 50,000 pounds of diamond, as well as rare tinctures worth 50,000 GP. In the process of construction, 20,000 pounds of diamond are reduced to worthless carbon matter(Charcoal). Assembling the body requires a DC 45 (Gemcutting) check.
CL 35th; Craft Epic arms and Armor, Polymorph Any Object, Geas/Quest, Prismatic Spray, Prismatic Wall, Hardening. Caster must be at least 35th level. Price 2,500,000; Cost 1,250,000 GP + 50,000 XP

That thing's way too weak to be a CR 32 monster.

I'm curious, how is that supposed to defeat any creature with flying and ranged attacks (a 50% miss chance and DR 50/+8 only goes so far - especially at your levels)? Not to mention that it's move speed is only 20 (not zesty).

I'd personally peg this thing at around CR 25 (if only because of its semi-decent AC), possibly lower than that.

If you don't mind changing it a bit, I suggest that you modify its Reflect ability. Instead of reflecting rays, have it reflect all (or possibly 1/2 - I can see PCs being somewhat irate when they kill themselves) physical damage (along with spells) back to whomever attacks it.

I'd also suggest giving it a ranged weapon. Prismatic Ray (most likely as an at-will ability) could fit thematically with its other abilities. If you have it (the ray) cast at CL 25 it would have a range of 350 ft. which would definitely give this thing something to do against flyers.

Hey there ChrisDemiLich! :)

I designed a Diamond Golem for one of my books - you can check out the art on this page (scroll down a bit):

I like your version too, but I agree with Sokenzan Marauder that its Challenge Rating is way too high for the monster you have designed.

Minor detail, but to be up to date, it should have +40 HP from being a Huge Construct, and the DR should be something like DR 50/epic and bludgeoning.

Actually, I'm not sure this thing has much to fear from flying attackers (although it doesn't pose a threat to them either). The DR and miss chance are merely secondary defensive abilties against melee attacks - this golem's true defense is the Prismatic Wall armor, which stops all spells and ranged attacks dead.

The only things you can do against this golem are melee attacks, touch-attack spells (with SR:no), or using Mordenkainen's Disjunction to take down the prismatic armor. In fact, even Disjunction is questionable, as this is a supernatural ability and not a spell, magic item, or SLA.

That said, with a slow movement speed and no ranged firepower, this thing can simply be avoided most of the time. It needs fast flight or a decently potent ranged attack badly.

Alright, so lets take what everyone inputted, and rework this a bit.

Phase Shift (Su): By phasing out of reality for an instant, the diamond golem can instantly transfer itself as a move action to any point within 180 feet. The golem reappears instantly at the location it had chosen to move to, and can act immediately. Any creatures within attack range of the golem's new position do not recieve an attack of opportunity, unless they had some prior knowledge of the exact spot the golem was moving too. This ability otherwise is treated as the greater teleport spell, as cast by a 25th level caster.

Shard Spray (Ex): Once per round, the diamond golem may make a shard spray attack. This ability fires a line of sharp, piercing diamond arrows, which is 5 feet wide and 180 feet long. The shards deal 15d6 damage to all enemies caught in the spray. A successful Reflex save halves the damage. Save DC 32.

Challenge rating reduced to 28. And new abilities to counter the lack of ranged attack, and slow movement issues. Now, it should be a much more formidible monster for an epic campaign.

I'd increase it's speed a bit (50 ft, no running?), and give it some method of recovery as most of the epic creatures have some method of refilling it's hitpoints. Fast healing 30 should be approprociate for it I think. But it is you and your DM's choice, not mine :weep:
