Does ECL count when going epic? [Archive] - Wizards Community

I have a wizard 12/Archmage 5 Lich, for a total ECL of 21.

When I gain my 18th level, can I take an epic feat, or do I have to wait until I hit 21th level to take an epic feat?

I can't find any good reference and my brain is shutting down because of a terminal disease called stupidity :)

08-24-07, 03:05 PM ECL only matters for the amount of XP you need. You aren't epic until you hit 21 HD or more. I remember reading this for an epic-level game, but I don't remember exactly where.
