ELH: Going from 3rd to 3.5 [Archive] - Wizards Community

Just wanted to ask here, is there any place on the site containing the information I need to upgrade the Epic Level Handbook to 3.5 Ed.?

11-10-07, 01:19 PM There was, I think, a document on the Wizards site that updated the ELH. The SRD also presents the ELH's material in the current edition.

11-25-07, 10:11 PM And always keep firmly in mind, since WotC all but abandoned epic a short few months after it was out, most of the official guides will ultimately let you down. There is a huge difference between reducing damage by 40 or 70 points and reducing it (or failing to) by 20. The 3.5 DR did a dirty number on epic, making a +6 weapon your first and only concern. This alters nearly all of the CRs in the book, but you won't find that in a guide.

Also, because the monsters were built mid-3.0, they suffer from some of the same things other 3.0 monsters did. Over or under estimated CRs. No way to deal with multiple layers of immunity. One trick ponies.

Many epic feats are lame compared to recent 'high level feats' in 3.5. Weapon Supremacy spanks Epic Weapon Focus and Specialization. Barbarians automatically get Mighty Rage at 20th level and no one has (officially) changed that feat to do something useful.

Etc, etc. Expect to do a lot of house ruling (or use some of the better done houserules you may find around here) in epic.
