| paradox197710-20-07, 11:55 AM | I am creating an epic character (at level 50 for an idea of how much I can spend on the items). I have previously seen a list of the sort of abilities that you should have covered by the time you are epic level, but these seem to have disappeared. Some things such as having Trueseeing and Heavy Fortification are obvious, but other abilities and their sources (eg. immunity to poison from a Periapt of Poison) are slightly less obvious, and other really useful abilities are downright obscure. So I open the question of what abilities and items are most useful for any epic character (Incidentally, if it makes a difference my character is an arcane spellcaster, so you can be more specific if you like, though the question is pretty general). |

| evangelion101011-27-07, 08:09 PM | Elemental immunity (obvious) - ring, 2.4 million Mind affecting spells - mind blank, epic mind blank. A targetable AMF (epic) is amazing, if the DM allows it. Ability drain or damage is a good thing to be immune to, as is negative levels - there's an armor in BoED which grants this i think. Heavy fortification, as you mentioned... In general there are very few ways to be immune to everything, as more than a few things have ways around immunities. (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=955682) The only way to be really safe is Evasion and mettle, high saves and a high AC, not losing dex when flat footed, and preferrably having a high initiative. Feats like infinite deflection and deflect spell are useful too. |
