Has anyone ever created any epic aspects? I was looking at the aspects in Miniatures Handbook and thinking that it might be nice to have an epic version of a divine aspect. At some point the party is likely to encounter a group of evil priests attempting to summon a deity. A problem with having them summon the deity itself is that I suspect it would be much too powerful for the party to handle, even if they're might higher epic-level than they are now (21st). Even an avatar of a deity might be too challenging. Also the aspects have listed CRs, while the deities do not, so it's hard to judge the appropriate CR for the deities or their avatars. So I thought that perhaps epic aspects might work better than simply using the deity or avatar. Any ideas? Thanks. :)

For demons & devils, use various printed stats for them. FCI, FCII, BoVD. For others, build them similarly.

You could also use a Divine Proxy - make a character that has the class levels, or a subset of them, of a god, but no outsider HD, and then tack on Divine Rank 1. That will be some nice benefits. For stats, decrease them all by 10 from the ones in the Deities and Demigods.

That should give you a fairly powerful "aspect".

Hey Rob! You're always full of sensible suggestions! Thanks! :)

So how much would you add to the CR for the divine rank of 1? I seem to recall someone somewhere talking about the CR value of divine ranks, but I think the someone might have been referring to something under the Dicefreaks divine/epic rules, so I'm not sure if it even applied under the standard rules. Thanks!

You know what's funny? I was just looking at the aspects in Miniatures Handbook and noticing that they have only outsider hit dice and no class levels--the opposite of your suggestion. (Bahamut and Tiamat have dragon hit dice, which mirrors their Deities and Demigods entries.) While all outsider hit dice works fine for demon princes and archdevils, it seems less than satisfactory for deities, who generally have both outsider hit dice and class levels. Deities seem to lose most of their class abilities this way. Using your method would allow them to retain all their class abilities. I might also give them one hit die of outsider just to allow them to keep their outsider benefits, although I suppose one could give them the outsider type without any of the hit dice. :)

Edit: I notice that the three einherjar on page 199 of Deites and Demigods each have 20 class levels, a divine rank of zero, and a CR of only 20--meaning they get no increase in their CR or having a divine rank of zero. A divine rank of even 0 grants a bundle of benefits, including full hit points per die, SR, DR, many immunities and some energy resistances. I see though that they didn't grant the einherjar full hit points.

D&DG is kind of n00b.
Dicefreaks doesn't give deities outsider HD, so wizard deities don't get four attacks. Might be a good idea.
