Epic Dread Necromancer ???? [Archive] - Wizards Community

if not could a Dread Necromancer go Demi-lich say at level 30 ??

There's a lot of people who ask. Demi-lich PCs are far too problematic.

it could possibly become a demi-lich at 21st level, if it were a 21st level caster with a 21st caster level as well. It just needs the money to make the soul gems... unless it takes the rules from the DN for its phylactry and -could- apply it to the creation of soul gems.

That is correct, but nothing prevents your players from creating their own epic PrC for DM approval that might work towards the demilich template.

Dread Necromancers are very specialized for their game. They stand alot to benefit by multiclassing once they reach level 20. I would actually advise homebrewing your own PrC to make these guys work in a game where undead and their ilk are not highly involved in the story(and thus make the dread necromancer useful addition to the party, because he fills a needed niche).

03-20-07, 06:16 PM Personally, I'd just go +1 CL each level, Undead HD and a bonus feat every 3 levels. Picking Spell Knowledge should help the DN considerably.
