I was wondering if anyone had any Idea what seed I can use for the [force] energy descriptor. Also Any Ideas for some cool epic force spells ( if possible can you keep the spellcraft DC below 55-60).

This basically falls into ad hoc factors. Force is a more powerful energy type, so you might want to add +5 or +10. If you use dicefreaks' Feanmerc system you can make epic spells based on magic missile, bigby's hands, wall of force, etc.

Which were created using spells as seeds. There are some force spells in an issue of Dragon, you could use those as seeds.

Ok this is cool and all, but how do I go about figuring out these seeds based on spells.
Thanks for the input.

12+2*spell level.

Thanks, is there a book or any other sources that I can find these rules and what-not?

**Edit** Never Mind I found what I was looking for in the Epic Level Handbook footnotes

I thought it was 13+2*spell level. Take the number of ranks in Spellcraft that a sorcerer could have when he could cast the spell, and add 10 for an average check.

4th level spell, 8th level sorcerer, S/C 11, DC 21.

The fact that it's posted on Dicefreaks doesn't make it specific to it ;) Feanmerc is Feanaro's and Mercucio's, though some of us at Dicefreaks use it.

It's 13 + [minimum wizard caster level to cast spell]. A 9th level spell thusly has a DC of 30, a first level spell has a DC of 14. At least, that's Mercucio's recent version - the original may have differed.

I may have read the thread fast, but why are we using Mercucio's seed DC version? The version in the ELH which has not been changed or errata'ed is to base it on Sorcerer casting (page 91, sidebar at the bottom). A 9th level spell has a DC 31.

For my own purposes, I prefer to use the Energy seed with a +10 ad hoc - I don't like more seeds, I prefer fewer.... :)

There's a version in the ELH? I never even knew. Good point - I concede.
