Does anyone know where I can find the eratta'd info at, if at all? One of the biggest issues I have is with the epic feat Master of Elements. The summoning portion states: "As a full round action...summon a critter........ . Activating this ability requires a standard action." What da heck?? Also, with Lord of All Essences, is the save DC against each essence determined by the highest level essence/blast shape, or is it determined separately? |

| rob_douglas03-18-08, 02:37 PM | Right, no errata are forthcoming. But Eytan Bernstein has been known to frequent these boards. As for your particular issues: Master of the Elements should be full-round, since summons generally take longer than a standard action anyway. It won't make much difference. Lord of all Essences - I would determine the DC separately, since it notes that each essence is determined separately, and the DC of all used is increased by 2. There is no indication that you would combine them into a single save, and this mimics abilities like Twin Spell, which causes 2 saves as well. ROB |

Yes, the Master of the Elements feat shouldn't have read earth, air, fire, water - that was an error. As for the DC increases, this was done in an attempt to allow warlocks to keep up with everyone else. If their DCs were based on the spell levels of their powers, epic warlocks would be fairly useless. Sure, this might mean that their DCs could get hire than those of a Wizard, but this is meant to be a balance to the fact that warlocks have a very small number of powers, many of which are easily blocked. As for the spell-like abilities - ie. teleport at will - these function in the same way as invocations. They can be dispelled and do not count as supernatural or extraordinary abilities. Some special abilties are supernatural or extraordinary, but those are usually bonuses or powers that are in effect all the time such as a skill bonus or telepathy. The errors - not counting any formatting or link errors which I have nothing to do with - that are my doing (at least what I've discovered so far) are the incorrect labeling of the elemental resistances (which should be acid, cold, electricity, fire, and sonic damage). The word diabolists was used to describe a pact with Pazuzu, but it should read demonoloigists. I am really happy with the response and we are definitely listening to any clarifications so that future work can be more precise. It does not answer the standard vs full-round dilemma though. |
