I'm a DM and just wanted to ask if anyone has any good quests/adventures for epic level characters. My group is nearing epic level, and I want to get started on making some epic level quests for when they reach epic status.

Thanks in advance ;)

Well, the handbook actually has quite a bit of good advice.

Basically, be creative. It's their responsibility to survive at epic --- or to be able to run away, and to know how to judge the situation appropriately.

I like taking low-level adventures and advancing them to epic.

Epic adventures are fairly tough for me, but here are a few I came up with off the top of my head.

1) a group of evil gods decides that they are tired of their servants being destroyed by the player's efforts. They decide to pool their efforts to create a monster that is capable of laying waste to the players. Unfortunately for these gods, the monster is birthed with the unintended power of being able to reflect divine power back on its users. With this ability, it drives one of the gods from her or his godly realm, and begins to reproduce more of its kind so that these progeny can conquer the rest of the gods. Since the heroes do not possess divine powers (with the possible exception of divine casters and paladins), they are less vulnerable to the monster than the gods are. The group must enter the godly realm and destroy the monster before it reproduces enough children to conquer the pantheon.

2) The heroes are visited by a time-traveling cleric who informs the players that in the future they have become the lords of a corrupt and evil empire. He has traveled back in time to help the heroes prevent their own fall from grace. What event could have corrupted such mighty heroes of good and can it be stopped?

3) An incredibly powerful blue dragon has spent thousands of years constructing an empire in the center of the earth, far below even the underdark. It engaged in many tactics to increase its power such as creating the "imprisonment" spell and teaching it to humanoid mages so that it could receive a steady supply of powerful individuals whom it could enslave to do its bidding. It now feels it has enough power to make its move. The heroes receive word of a powerful army conquering vast swaths of the underdark and moving rapidly towards the surface...

The june issue of Oerth Journal had a lv21 epic adventure (the one where you face a Xexical, IIRC). Anyone still have the link to that?:)

Level 21 vs. a Xixecal....ouch...

Then again, it's not paragon, is it?

We write all of our epic adventures, due to the extreme lack of published adventures. It's possible, though, to modify existing adventures for epic levels.

Level 21 vs. a Xixecal....ouch...

You will supposedly get some sort of blessing that imposes a ton of penalties on the Xixecal and grants you resistances to many of its attacks, presumably lowering it to a more manageable cr24-25. It should still be a tough fight, but not the TPK it sounds.:)

They are! Enough to make your saves half the time. Check out http://www.oerthjournal.com and look for issue #21 for the epic adventure.

There are a few epic adventures out there, notably the Storm Lord's Keep and Razing of Redshore is near epic - enough to be easily adapted to Epic. Dungeon magazine usually had a high level adventure that could be advanced to Epic pretty easily. Hellfire Mountain, and the ends of the Campaign Arcs for Age of Worms, Prince of Demons - all high enough level to advance to epic.

There is also the Door to Summit-Al. Check out the "Important Epic Threads" sticky at the top of the forum for the Epic Compendium, which then lists many Epic options, including links to that last one.

Also, my link in my sig includes a list of old pre-3E adventures that are convertible to Epic. Still a lot of work, but at least the plot is there for you.

Then there are the 100 Epic Adventure ideas - as well as the followups on the Greyhawk Epic board for Epic Adventure Seeds as well as the 1001 epic adventure ideas thread - I think that is in my Epic Greyhawk link. IF not I can look for it.

The real question is - what do you want

Good luck.

As an addendum to my previous (really new info, so I am not going to edit that) here is a list of Dungeon adventures that would make for good Epic Adventures. Basically anything for level 15 and above can be scaled without much issue, and presents an epic enough scope.
